“I hope your day’s goin’ better than mine, ‘cause I feel like I need new paint,” Sideswipe complained. Despite this, his finish didn’t seem to have any visible damage. “I was just sittin’ there doin’ recon - actually doing my job - when two humans decide my hood’s the best place to lay down and start mashing faces.” He pulled a disgusted face, brushing imagined dirt off his chest.
Cliff had given Sideswipe a look that said “oh really?” When the younger mech had mentioned needing a new paint job. Once Sideswipe had finished, a slight grin searched it’s way over the bigger mech’s lips. He chuckled. “You do realize that choosing an altmode that screams ‘look at me!’ Is going to attract young humans for that reason, right?” He smirked, arching an optic ridge.
“Then that’s their problem!” he huffed, with an almost pouting tone. “I’m just tryna look cool. Not like yours is any better anyway. You’re just as red as I am - and if those horns,” Sideswipe put up his index digits on either side of his head, “don’t scream ‘look at me’,” he wiggled them with the echoed phrase, “I dunno what does.”
”Maybe, but in the end of the day, you’re the one with human goo on your hood, I only have tickets in my windshield.” He chuckled. “And occasionally a boot. Either way, a whole lot less disgusting than human transfluid.” He winked.
There was a whine in his groan, hands dropping to his sides in a slight slump. “Don’t remind me…” Sideswipe retrieved one of the cleaning cloths they kept around, usually for dealing with mud. “Eww, it dried,” he muttered as he wiped it off. More clearly, he added, “Humans are gross. Y’know, I actually wish Strongarm had been there; she woulda made ‘em stop.”
Cliff laughed, sitting down by a tree. “The other youngling? From what I’ve seen, she would have encouraged them to continue.” He grinned, resting his helm against the tree and offlined his optics.
Sideswipe scoffed. “Yeah right! I bet she woulda been just as freaked out as I was.” Or so he hoped. Jeeze, one of the few times he decides to care enough about keeping a low profile... “Anyway, aren’t you a little old to be teasing?” It wasn’t his strongest comeback. He made up for it by tossing the used cleaning cloth at Cliff’s face.
