A/N: This is the fourth of my follower appreciation posts for @idkbutkamilah. Hope you like it!!
Adrian had asked Amy to attend the event with him. He said he needed her to be his eyes and ears, but since they'd arrived it was clear he just wanted a pretty piece of arm candy to impress potential clients.
She would've been offended, but she was getting paid and the drinks were limitless and free.
She sat in the corner, waiting for Adrian to beckon for her again. But in the meantime, she sipped her drink and watched New York's richest interact with each other. It felt so foreign to her, to be amongst this social class. She'd had to rent a dress that Adrian insisted on paying for. It looked lovely, but it was decidedly not her.
She felt very out of her depth here, but the warm, familiar burning of her scotch put her at ease.
"Hello," a voice came from behind her. She glanced back to see Kamilah Sayeed, the CEO of Ahmanet Financial, and one of Adrian's closest friends.
"Ms. Sayeed," she said with a courteous smile.
"Please," said Kamilah. "Call me Kamilah."
"Very well," said Amy. "Kamilah. Why aren't you out there schmoozing?"
Kamilah's eyes widened ever-so-slightly, surprised at Amy's brazenness.
"Well," she said matter-of-factly. "I don't much care for socializing. And anyone that wishes to partner with me seeks me out, so I don't really see the point."
"Then why come?" asked Amy, leaning forward. "I mean, surely you have better things to do."
Kamilah quirked her head to the side. "Yes," she said slowly. "Well, Adrian is a friend, and he organized the event."
"Ahh," said Amy. "So you're here out of obligation."
Kamilah rose an eyebrow. "I prefer loyalty, but to each their own, I suppose," she replied.
"Fair enough," said Amy shrugging. She took another sip of her scotch.
Kamilah smiled slightly. "You're very forthright tonight," she observed. "It's refreshing."
Amy looked at her drink. "Maybe you're just paying more attention tonight," she replied.
That caught Kamilah off guard. It was true, she hadn't paid much attention to Adrian's newest pet. But Amy almost seemed disappointed that Kamilah hadn't given her more attention.
"Mm," said Kamilah. "I don't think you want the kind of attention I have to offer."
Amy looked up at her then, an entire galaxy swirling in her eyes. "And what if I do?" she asked.
Kamilah felt an unfamiliar stirring in her stomach, Amy's eyes drawing her in. What was it about this girl?
She took a sip of her drink, her mouth suddenly feeling very dry. Amy stared at her, pinning her in place, desperate for an answer.
"You're really drunk right now," Kamilah said. "I don't think you're going to remember any of this."
"No, I'm not drunk," Amy retorted. "You're just blurry."
Kamilah laughed, light and breezy. God-damn was that a beautiful laugh. Amy had never seen her so much as crack a smile, so she felt pretty accomplished making her laugh. Kamilah was right, she'd definitely had too much to drink, but she memorized every note of that laugh.
"Maybe we should get you home?" asked Kamilah.
Amy smirked at her. "Nice," she said. "Smooth."
"I beg your pardon?" asked Kamilah.
"Oh, I know what you're doing," said Amy. "You play the concerned, responsible guest and Adrian lets you leave early to see to me. Not bad, Sayeed."
Kamilah blushed, another first for Amy. It looked like the sun was setting across her face, taking Amy's breath away.
"That's not what I was thinking," she said, but it was clear that Amy had caught her.
"Well," said Amy. "I'm okay with being your escape plan on one condition."
"Oh?" asked Kamilah, intrigued.
"You come home with me," Amy said with a smile.
"Absolutely not," Kamilah replied. "I don't go home with anyone."
"Oh?" asked Amy, a devious sparkle in her eye. "Is that your way of asking me to come home with you?"
Kamilah balked at her suggestion.
"That doesn't seem very professional, now does it?" she replied.
Amy smiled. "Well," she said, "I don't know about you, but I've had enough 'professional' for one night." She motioned around the room.
This woman was quick-witted, thought Kamilah. She might have underestimated her.
"You're drunk," she said softly. "I won't take advantage of you."
Amy raised her eyebrows. "Kamilah Sayeed," she said slowly. She loved the way her name felt on her tongue. "Are you suggesting that you would take advantage of me when sober?"
Kamilah's eyes widened. "I--no, of course not," she fumbled, shaking her head.
Amy smiled. "Well that's a damn shame," she sighed. "You're the kind of woman a girl wants to take advantage of her."
Kamilah was utterly awestruck with this force of a woman before her. She went blow for blow with her, cunning and bold and powerful. She'd never met anyone like her, and Kamilah had thought she'd met every kind of person.
"I've had a nice evening with you, Ms. Sayeed," said Amy. "But I think it's my time. I'll get an Uber, so you can stay and enjoy the party."
Amy smiled at her, eyes sparkling.
"It is really unfair that there are two of you," said Amy. "You're too pretty for that."
"Alright," said Kamilah, standing. "I'm taking you home." She helped Amy stand, trying to hide the smile on her face.
"You know," said Amy as Kamilah walked her to the car. "You're not as mean as everyone says."
Kamilah chuckled. "I am," she said. "You just make me want to be nice."
Kamilah buckled Amy into the front seat, driving her to her apartment with Lily.
"I like you," said Amy. "When you're nice. Hell, I even like you when you're mean."
"Oh?" asked Kamilah, smiling at the girl's drunken haze.
"Sometimes I like you even more," she said giggling.
"Well," said Kamilah, parking the car. "I think I like you too."
Amy's bloodshot eyes met hers, wide with surprise.
"You do?" she gasped.
Kamilah helped her up the stairs.
"I thought you hated me," said Amy.
Kamilah stopped her outside the door to her apartment. She looked into her eyes, her stomach fluttering, heart racing, blood boiling.
"I don't think I could ever hate you," she said, pulling Amy in for a deep, passionate kiss.
Amy reciprocated, pulling Kamilah to her desperately, their bodies hot against each other. Kamilah's tongue slid gently into Amy's mouth, and Amy sucked on it slowly. Amy pulled her lip into her mouth, nibbling, before finally pulling away, gasping for breath.
"Wow," she said, chest heaving.
Kamilah smiled, just as Lily opened the door.
"Ames! You look trashed--oh! Who is this?"
Kamilah smiled at Lily. "I just wanted to see that Amy got home safe," she said. "I'll be leaving."
"Goodnight, Ms. Sayeed," Amy said flirtatiously.
"Goodnight, little firefly."

A depressed guy moves into a haunted house with 7 demons, each corresponding to a deadly sin. But, they’re all trying to help him get back on his feet; Pride helps with self confidence, Lust helps him get laid, etc.
I would watch the crap outta this like wow
Envy: “Glut, back off the guy, okay?”
Gluttony: “I’m just saying he could stand to gain a few pounds! I made spaghetti!”
Sloth: “After we eat, it’s gonna be time for a nice nap. We’ve earned it!”
Pride: “Damn right we did!”
Just imagine the Catholic Church making a statement regarding this new tv show.
Wrath does nothing but encourage him to punch assholes.
“You deserve better! That was YOUR parking space!”
“He’s like three hundred pounds of muscle, Wrath.”
“And you are 165 pounds of RAGE!”
Wrath’s advice isn’t great, but he means well.
Greed spends his days trying to help him manage his budget and put money on the side
“Bro check this out i’ve got the sickest retirement plan, technically it’s tax evasion i guess but fuck those guys, right?”
This is the most hardcore sequel to Inside Out.

Okay but for anyone who legit wants to know how to calculate it correctly:
The elbow joint on average rests a couple inches higher than the navel, so if you measure how long the distance is from the middle of the shoulder to that point then you have the length of the upper and fore arms!
So if anyone’s wondering about legs too, the simplest rule of thumb is that the length from the top of the leg to the knee is equal to the distance between the top of the leg and the bottom of the pectorals:
And I wanna stress that when i say “top of the leg” i’m not talking about the crotch (please don’t flag me tumblr it’s an anatomical term) i’m talking about the point where the femur connects to the pelvis, which is higher up on the hips:
It’s easier to see what I’m talking about in this photo of a man squatting:
So yeah if you use that measurement when using this technique you should get fairly realistically proportioned legs:
But remember! messing with proportions is an important and fun part of character design! Know the rules first so you can then break them however you please!
HOW THE HELL DID I FIND THIS POST OMG
Licherally in the midst of drawing a guy and crying at how bad the arms are. Thanks Tumbles
