Overwatch: A new era (20+) is a new server that follows closely to the lore of the game, with a staff team committed to keeping their members updated on the current happenings of the lore after Vendetta’s after over of Talon. We offer reasonable flexibility with the canon’s — for characters that are currently rogue, you get to choose their motivations moving forward as long as it fits their characterisation both past and present! There’s also a space for original characters, allowing those who want to have their creativity with heroes (or villains) they have created to flourish! As long as it works cohesively with the lore of the Overwatch universe, and characters are scaled/power balanced they’re all welcome!

“Oh fuck yeah,” the tiefling whipped her head toward Grier, teeth partitioned as fangs on full display with the grace of her grin, “That’s exactly my language. No reason in backing down when we have an attitude like that, soldier.” The boast of her response was riddled within the extension of her arms, as though welcoming such an idea– Hells, it was one she’d lived by for the last decade. 

“You’ve got my axe at your side, we’ll put these fuckers down in no time.” Karlach brought her arms back down before the gesture had become touch, a simplistic concept that she hadn’t been able to reproduce since the engine flowing through her system erupted itself into a singed coating within her palms. She’d refrained from it all for the safety of those around her, despite how numbing the emptiness had become.

Beneath the eggshell of his veil, a nearly inaudible chuckle echoed through the rough distortion. A tune that’d become a haunt of a melody, battered and dragged through as much of the flames as it’d been all those years ago– human. 

It was an interesting statement, one he’d reflected on years ago once he’d been captured by the claws of Talon. Was he human? What remained of himself felt less than; particles that divided with each second, the innate wrath that spiralled itself within his chest as though it were a chorus of its own demise, conducting some symphony that always carried itself out in destruction. Was that human nature? For some, perhaps. Certainly for himself, now– though the ideology applied in a much different fashion when he’d been forced to look in a mirror.

Thankfully, that wasn’t often. 

“If you haven’t learned anything, one thing to note is that flattery will land you nowhere. You know nothing.”

His tone was sharp, carried over the extension of his arm where he’d trained his arrow against the shelf of his bow, the latter knocked where it needed to be. It was a threat as much as it’d been a warning– and it was the only one he’d been willing to give.

“You are foolish to think that I would relent so easily. Not every bounty needs to be done under your hands, and it is preferred if this one is not.” The stature of his form hadn’t wavered under their engagement; each muscle was tight, strung and equipped to release if it’d been deemed necessary.

A beat. Steady, almost calculating as crimson tiers narrowed from the scrutiny held within them. A gaze that leveled itself with the beholder of such a statement– ashen eyebrows perched themselves upwards with a small cock to his head.

“Quite the observer, are you? And what do you suppose we do with this information? Follow it?” A hushed, stifled bark of a laugh clipped itself from his lungs, the resonation of air seeping through foreign passageways. It muted itself just as quickly as it started. “Do tell, why do you think I care about this? Far be it from me to be the one to walk willingly into a potentially horrid situation.” No matter the blood– of course the acrid scent was appealing to a nose like his, though the situation certainly could have easily carved itself out with the liquid in cautious writing if one squinted hard enough.

It felt like an endless dream.

An expansive sea of darkness surrounding her. Cradling her. No sight, no sound, no smell - just silence. Blessed silence. Floating in the inky black.

Outside of the tank, machines beeped steadily. The air smelled of disinfect, like a hospital might, sterile and unwelcoming. Under the low lights, every surface shone white, with splashes of color. A yellow sticky note. A pink pen. A vial of vibrant red blood, ready to be tested.

In the middle of the room was the tank. A large tube with tinted glass, though if you stood close enough and peered inside you could make out the floating figure hooked up to a breathing apparatus and other tubes. They were the only breathing thing in the room. It was late and the staff had gone home for the night.

Inside the tube, her fingers twitched.

Darkness carried itself in a silent cradle above the archer; a cocoon that swaddled him with each light step, paving the way for lithe mobility and unforeseen shadows. Padded feet moved themselves with precision, a dedication that curled itself within the grip of his fingers against his bow, the pattern of delicate footwork shifting alongside each stride. 

Infiltrate and remove the target– an objective all too easy for someone like him. Working alone in the silhouette of the moon, the grace of the pavement giving way until he’d breached the building; it was timed down to the second, his precision and expectation would have landed himself no less. He’d had this job planned out for him for the better half of what he considered to be a few months by now; assessing the scale of the organization that he’d been attempting to invade required that calculation. 

Again, it was a formula that he’d procured after days of watching, scouting, assessing for the betterment of his life and his target’s. They both needed to leave alive.

Talon didn’t allow that, on most fronts.

Nimble and hushed, the entryway of a larger vent allowed for him to scale his way inside, shuffling and shifting– stopping at each open access panel to peer in, assure for himself that he was alone in what he was about to do.

There was no one. Perfect, as it should’ve been. He knew better than to rely on the schedule, the system that Talon built themselves around. It could change within a moment’s breath, and Hanzo had been ready for it if that moment came, too.

A small thud resounded itself under the change of his weight, a press into the linoleum of the room that housed his target. Inside, he was less than enthused with the sight he’d been provided, though there was little time to care for the inhumane processing on one’s body. This was about stopping that.

Before being sent, he’d been instructed on which panels operated which pieces of machinery– which not to press and those to proceed with caution. It was a delicate task, one that spoke its volume as amber hues inspected the tank before himself. A silent hum formed within his chest as he stowed his bow, the attachment inaudible against his back as he’d stepped toward a display of buttons. Lower the water, retain the oxygen. It sounded redundant, though it’d been vital for the subject within. A tanned digit held itself with hesitance as he’d scanned each row once more, forcing a confidence within his actions as he’d started to press– a quick succession of multiple colors, an alignment he’d tuned to his memory for this procedure. Behind him, the mechanical whir was instantaneous, though he hadn’t faltered from his station.
