I was always frustrated how my P.E. teachers wanted all of us to go “all-or-none” and basically hurt ourselves without letting us build up from square-one like in the first gif. Then they’d fuckin yell at us for not doing it right >:|
When I got my first personal trainer, she had me doing push ups almost standing upright in the weight lifting bars so that I could do 15 reps and 3 sets of them. It’s more about the technique of the push up, and if you’re pushing too much weight, you can’t exersize the correct muscles within their tolerances. This post is pretty important tto know cause of that.
I was introduced to the knee push-up last year and it was such a fucking game changer. I had NO idea it was possible to work those same muscles just with a slight variation in position.
I wanna just verify that these are excellent for building strength, both as someone who took weights class in high school with a good teacher, and as someone who’s had a lifetime of physical therapy (not for my arms specifically, but I’ve spent a lot of time in sports medicine centers). And again, if the vertical one in the first gif is difficult, you don’t even have to lean into it like that. Start standing, and only lean as much as it takes you to lower towards the wall.
And remember, many exercises can be modified in this way! I did an image search for “modified pull up” and got exactly what I was looking for right away, which is this:
Doing pull ups on a lower bar, or from the straps with handles that gyms sometimes have (called the TRX - they can also be used to support yourself during squats and some balance exercises) is a lot easier than jumping straight into vertical pullups, and lets you build up that muscle with exercises that are still comfortable and safe for you, so you can do more sets of more reps.
As a general rule, always start with lower-strain exercises and practice good form before you work your way up. You don’t want to have to unlearn bad habits that could lead to injury later as the difficulty increases.
Because I have serious issues with core strength and cannot do a sit up or a crunch without using muscles I shouldn’t and hurting myself, I looked up core exercises for beginners (because modified sit ups just have me ways to make it harder), and here’s what I found.
All from here, which also includes sit ups with the idea that you start up and don’t go all the way down.
I was drawing a bunch of pentagrams in my notebook during math class because I was bored and I think I drew 150 pentagrams in total before a devilish-looking guy wearing a red suit broke down the door of the classroom and yelled “wHAT the fUCK do you wANT?!”
Two years. After graduation I would wake up with a panic attack if I heard loud vehicles like garbage trucks outside my window because I thought I overslept and missed the bus.
My younger sister enters high school and one time my mom asked my sister if she had her homework done. And I thought my mom was talking to me and I blurted out "HOLY SHIT I FORGOT." I was shaking for a good 20 minutes from the adrenaline. I hadn't had homework in three years.
Several years out of high school I get anxious going to the bathroom at my job thinking my manager or supervisor is going to stop me and give me shit for slacking off or not asking permission. I hold it for hours on end. I drink less water.
Four years after graduation I show up to work with a 104 degree fever. I'm pulling a pallet and pass out from exasution. It doesn't last long and I'm still okay.
To this day I hear people giggling and assume they're laughing at me. I assume everyone is going to treat me like a highschooler would. Or worse a teacher. When I'm pulled into an office I assume I'm getting into trouble. I'm terrified of people asssuming I'm stupid or lazy or a flake.
Now lets step back and think about how all of this serves the interests of capital. Our formative years are spent making us deathly terrified of lateness, and fulfilling basic human needs at the expense of productivity. It makes us cowardly and submissive in the face of authority. It drives us into work sick and gives a psyche that always pesters us with "why aren't you doing more"?
This is earth shattering, I can’t believe there are people, who don’t think in sentences??? What the fuck is an abstract non-verbal thot? Y’all hoes think in Pictionary???? What the fuck
my nonverbal ass is shook bc apparently (according to the replies) people who think in sentences also read in mental sentences… like when ur reading it’s as if there is a voice inside their heads reading it as if out loud. w i l d
Realized I never posted pics of my Reani costest here! ✨ Put it together with things in my closet shortly after Mica’s guest spot, but I’m looking forward to crafting a full costume for it! 👼💐🌸🌼🌻
-Thrown out my boarding pass while saying to my mother, “it’s okay she’s in a wheelchair of course someone will just give up their seat for her”
-had staff kneel down to me and talk to me in a baby voice and say, “oh sweetie you didn’t understand me I asked you if you could walk
-been through every thorough pat down known to man
-had my wheelchair banged up to the point I had to by new wheelchair tires
-had staff talk over me and about me as if I wasn’t there
- had staff complain about me while I was being moved in a transfer chair
-was brought to a flight of stairs up to a plane and staff was shocked that I couldn’t board that way
-was sent a bus to pick me up and bring me to the wheelchair accessible boarding spot. They had to send a second bus because the first one they called for was not wheelchair accessible
And NOW, the Department of Transportation is proposing laws for aircraft that would:
- FORCE me (and other SD teams) to get paperwork proven that my highly trained service dog is well behaved and isn’t gonna poo everywhere
-FORCE me (and others) to arrive and HOUR earlier than anyone else on the flight so my service dog can be WATCHED FOR AN HOUR before deciding if we’ll be allowed to board
This is being disguised as a way to control people taking advantage of ESAs and what it is trying to do and what it will do is IMPEDE disabled people. They want to refuse legitimately trained miniature service horses. They want to make ESAs not allowed in aircraft at all. And they want to discriminate against disabled folk even more than they already do. This is not okay.
There is about a month or two left for the public to comment on the DOTs proposal. Please comment and help out our disabled community especially those with animal helpers

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation today announced that it is seeking public comment on proposed amendments to its Air Carri
Proposed rule would let airlines ban most "emotional support" animals in airplane cabins and board only trained service dogs.
doodles of Peter crashing hard in class hahah.
Cause when you’re a beginner super hero with bad time management you go to school during the day and patrol till way past your curfew.. so you’ve got no time to catch those Z’s
