I met this dork

I posted this in July of 2014 and it is now May of 2021. Since posting this photo, I have seen Seth in person more times than I can even count. And it’s his fault! Without his smug delivery on Weekend Update, I wouldn’t have paid attention to what channel he was on. I wouldn’t even have paid attention to the news! But because of him, I tuned into NBC at 11:30PM on Saturday nights. And now, I tune into Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday-Friday mornings on YouTube.

Since posting that photo, I graduated from college and worked in 30 Rockefeller Plaza for 4 years! I was hired as a NBC Page where I got to be there on Saturday nights at 11:30. But also, I was there at 6:30PM Monday-Thursday, standing in the back of Studio 8G watching Seth do “A Closer Look” while I tried to follow the day’s headlines. I wish I could go back at tell 2014 Kinjal that she would be seeing Seth preform on a daily basis. (Maybe she wouldn’t have waited in that line.) Now, I work at NBC News with aspirations to create a captivating way to inform people of their world while championing for human rights, the same way Seth does. It’s so insane to see how much impact a complete stranger has made on my life.

Seth wasn’t the sole factor but the catalyst in finding my career path. It’s up to me to fuel where it goes, so wherever that is - I would like to think that dork and I won’t be strangers.
