I have not been following your work for a very long time, but is it possible to find out more about your alternative universe and their characters (meaning the winter expedition and the snow kingdom)
In general, it was necessary to tell at least some brief background for a long time.
I decided to sketch the approximate location of the kingdom itself relative to Knighton.
So, a little bit about the royal family. You could see their approximate appearance in my first post on the winter expedition.
King Harkon, Queen Anna and Prince Leive ‐ oh, I meant Jestro.. now Jestro. Also in the kingdom lived a wizard — Belmoor. He was a member of the wizard's council. He lived in the royal castle and "rented" the royal library for himself.
The technology in the kingdom was used only indoors, as it was often cut down in the cold. While tech iron horses were used in Knighton, in the Northern Kingdom people rode reindeer
Knighton and the Northern Kingdom were not at war with each other, but were in a state of minor conflict. Kings often quarreled among themselves and disliked each other, while their wives got along well.
The attack of the cruel ice monsters caused the fall of the Northern Kingdom. As soon as King Halbert found out that the northern kingdom was being destroyed by ice monsters, he decided not to help them and not to send his army to help. He only put an army on the borders of Knighton so that the ice monsters would not get to his kingdom. Almost all the inhabitants of the northern kingdom died, including the king and queen. Just before the attack of the ice monsters, Belmoor disappeared without a trace, perhaps he also died. A very small part of villagers managed to survive, as did little Jestro.
After the kingdom completely fell, King Halbert ordered it to be completely erased from history, removed from all maps, and not to remember it.
I also want to add that Queen Halbert saw the little Prince Leive in Northern Kingdom castle, and when he was brought to Knighton Castle as a jester, she immediately recognized him, but did not tell the king about him. She raised Jestro as a son and took care of him.
