I have yet to make a pinned post, and I've been putting it off for a ridiculous amount of time, so here we are. Without further ado, welcome to my blog! I'll update this post if I need

I'm mountainashsplash, but you can call me Ash for short (not my real name.) I'm aroace, agender, and use any pronouns!

What I Do (and how I do it):

I like to write, draw, edit, and animate! My art is mostly digital and done in Procreate, but I like to do woodworking and chalk art as well. My animating is done in ToonSquid, but I occasionally draw frames in Procreate then add them into ToonSquid later. I do all my editing in iMovie

As for writing, I write fanfic for the AvA/M fandom. (You can see my blatant Chosen favouritism showing in everything I write.) I love whump and hurt/comfort, so most of my stuff has at least a little bit of angst sprinkled in.

I haven't posted much about them yet, but there's a lot I've thought up regarding them, so I may do something in the future if anyone wants to see that. (While I'm on the topic of OC stuff, I do have a collab blog with two of my friends where we shove our OCs together in a jar and shake them around; metaphorically, of course. There's nothing there yet, but we will put stuff there eventually! The side blog is @jar-collective)

I finally started to get the story of my main Au of the Sticks down, starting with the after events of the showdown. And right in the middle of writing Dark coming back to their home base i had to stop and look up their home base for reference

And then i went insane cause i Alan wtf is this?!

I didn't knew how to continue writing without knowing their damn floor plan How are the rooms distributed in this thing? How many rooms do they even have? Where's the front door?? Why do they have a garage??? And since we might not get any answers from Alan, I went ahead and made these two a floor plan

This is the most sense their ""house"" makes for me and i'm gonna put that into my Au abdkljhl I can't even begin to describe how insane this architectural mess had made me xD But now that i have a more concrete picture i can continue writing

About two years ago, I created some lore for my D&D characters. That lore became a fully fleshed-out realm that I named Phayara. I intended for Phayara to be a playable setting, but I never ended up using it for much. It's based off of D&D quite a bit, but I've added my own mythology and worldbuilding as well.

Phayara is the realm in which my OCs live, and I made a full magic system, map, pantheon, and overall society for this setting, but there's not really a plot beyond character backstories.

I’d die on the hill that “stranger danger” is a deeply unhelpful mentality to have. “Ooooh everyone is out to get me they’re all gonna perpetrate harm that’s actually more likely to come from someone I already know. I better never talk to anyone in my community who I don’t already know, just to be safe. I’m sure there are no other biases interwoven with this mentality” like oh my god human traffickers do not just randomly spawn in every parking lot. You don’t have to go solo hitchhiking across the country but you also don’t have to live in fear that every guy on the street is the knife man who’s gonna get you. Like have situational awareness, yeah. But most of the time the guy on the street is not knife man he’s actually just a guy on the street and he’s probably pretty chill, and you’re driving yourself crazy by living in a constant state of unnecessary fear.

Every one of her books I’ve read has been beautifully written. Yes, they’re written for children, but you won’t regret reading a single one of them. Applegate is hands-down my favorite middle grades author.
