Ajax In Playbacks
Now a days, Ajax is really important and we can find them on almost every new website. Ajax is really great, but in our sight it was a big problem. We are providing visitor playbacks, so we needed to handle all Ajax requests of our clients. Millions of pages, Millions of Ajax requests. but we did it, and Now we officially support Ajax requests in Playbacks in all modern browsers.
MouseStats Wiki
We are going to make a help wiki for MouseStats. It's not perfect yet, but we hope to make it great enough soon.
Most common troubles are answered completely there using codes and screenshots:

Goodbye Flash.
We have experienced many problems with Flash player. Poor memory management, security blockings, crashes and many limits.
When we started working on MouseStats, Flash and Flex were really great at graphic rendering and their speed was amazing in compare to HTML5. We had to use them to provide realtime rendering. In this a few months, we upgraded our softwares and hardwares, most of the graphic rendering process will be done in our servers instead of visitor browsers now.
So we decided to migrate to HTML5 Canvas and we are happy to announce that all customers can access to Heatmap reports from all modern browsers now without need to have Flash Player.
In compare to other heatmap providers in the market, we are providing "Realtime" heatmaps and this is a big technical challenge.
p.s. You can generate heatmaps for very, very long pages now. Goodbye Flash Limits!
p.s.s. The speed of heatmap generation is greatly improved.
API v1.0
We are providing white-labeled program for our partners. The basic api is available now to automate creating and managing accounts within partner’s website:
We will provide you:
_partnerId : a unique name to identify you in the system
_partnerSecret : a secret code for request authorization
API Functions:
Playback Duration
You can find playback duration in PlayLog for each recorded session.
More Detailed Heatmaps
From now, in "Mouse Move Heatmaps" and "Click Heatmaps" you can click on heatmap report to switch between overview and more detailed versions.
Scheduled Maintenance - Software Upgrade
We are going to change our data storing solution - also database structures - due to this huge volume of data we get every day.
We hope significant improves in report generating speed.
Some accounts may be fluctuating or reduced speed in the next couple of days.
May 18, 2013 (GMT) - May 20, 2013 (GMT)
Thank you for your patience.
Update 3:13 PM Sunday, May 19, 2013 (GMT): Update was performed successfully. All accounts are working properly.
How To Opt-out Sensitive Fields From Tracking?
There are some sensitive fields in all websites. By default MouseStats will not record any password textbox, but for other sensitive data like credit card information, you can simply add a css class to your textbox/textarea to disable it for recorder.
Example:
<input type="text" name="cvv" class="sensitive" />
<input type="text" name="cardno" class="txt sensitive" />
Upload Custom Screenshots for Heatmaps
At MouseStats, there are two main sections:
Playbacks
Heatmaps
You can record your website playbacks in protected and/or multi-step pages without any problem. But we have difference structure for heatmaps. There are a few professional services who support version testing and archiving. MouseStats will take a website screenshot, you can stop a project. Create another project with new design and compare them even after a year. With all other competitors, if you change a css file or any image, all of your heatmaps will be broken. Here at MouseStats, If you want to track pages that are behind a login or are part of a multi-step process, MouseStats isn’t always able to capture images of the pages. For these types of pages, you can manually upload the image of the page using the following method:
Method 1 - Official:
Take the screenshot using any program you prefer
Go to edit project page
Click on “custom screenshot?" hyperlink
Choose the file and click on “edit"
added on 7/9/2013
Method 2: Take the webpage screenshot using any application you like, upload it using this form: http://www.mousestats.com/ManualUpload.html
Method 3: 1. Open your heatmap projects in your panel and click on Share button on the project that you want to upload the screenshot your self. Panel > Heatmap Projects > Share
2. Click on Generate and Create a new Access Key, and copy the Custom Screenshot url.
3. Install the Fireshot for your Google Chrome browser.
4. Browse the page you want to take the screenshot and then click on Fireshot button in your browser window and click on: "Capture entire page and…" > "Upload”
5. Click on "Custom HTTP”, Paste the url you copied in the last step(MouseStats’ Custom Screenshot URL), enter something like the character “a" in the field specified in the images below. click on "Upload" button, and after the process, check out your heatmap project.
p.s. This feature is in beta testing. make a ticket if you have any problem.
A Milestone: 50,000,000 events are stored in MouseStats' databases
To date, More than 50,000,000 events are stored in our databases.
That's really big, and a huge amount of processing and storage.
