I didn't realize how strong my back looks - from this angle.. ๐ I used to be very self-conscious about my 'muscles', as they were always more defined in my arms (especially those triceps) and I always worried it made me look too masculine.. ๐ฃ My mom would roll her eyes at me and tell me life's too short to worry about such silly things! ๐ . I've learned over the years to embrace myself fully - perceived "flaws" and all - because that is the only way to be truly happy, and to be truly present. I used to do a lot of aimless worrying, and then I realized, my life is flying by, and I'm over here focusing on what parts I don't like about it! I was always looking for something else to 'fix', and under this belief system, you will never be enough, because there is always 'something wrong with you that needs to be fixed'. ๐พ . The reason, I have always loved yoga, and it's been there with me every step of the way, is that it brings you out of your head and into your body, and your breath! Practicing yoga doesn't fix every problem in your life, and it doesn't take away your worries (it may while practicing but if you're habitually anxious, this is something you will have to work at becoming more mindful of, and releasing throughout your days) but it does give us the tools we need, the strength, flexibility, and connection to our breath that we need to handle the curveballs life throws at us, and to have the courage and patience to explore deeper into ourselves. If there is any little thing that you tell yourself isn't 'good enough' about yourself, or 'how it should be' in your life, try - even just for today - to truly love this part of yourself, or your life! โ๏ธ . โYou can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.โ ๐ . #loveyourself #buddha #quote #move_yo_asana ๐
