I think it's kind of funny that each of the MXTX fandoms have a really strong strain of the exact kind of behavior that would drive the protagonists of each story up the wall.

Scum Villain fandom turns the characters into everything from adorable pets to majestic dragons to skin creatures and yet still more or less just smacking them together to kiss like barbies. Shen Qingqiu would have strong opinions on being depicted as a kind of lactating hairless cat with a human face, and also on all the gratuitous smut, and they would probably not be flattering opinions.

MDZS fandom has so much discourse hell and intense debates that often devolve into accusing some character or other of being completely morally indefensible, just the worst person who is secretly responsible for all the bad things in the story. Wei Wuxian would hate it, canonically that shit just flashes him back to the worst moments in his own life, so I think MDZS fandom would give him hives.

And finally TGCF fandom really likes opening and dissecting everything via fairly intensive metatextual analysis, not letting anything just slide by without a cross-examination or ten, which Xie Lian would not be a great fan of. Must we discuss all the terrible tragedies and how preventable they were/weren't? Is it not enough to simply enjoy Hua Cheng depicted as the world's roundest fox? Xie Lian is here for the fluff and the thirst posting and everyone else is blocked.

Now that I think of it, thank god SJ did not have access to the internet. He would have been a menace, more than SY ever could.
