As a faithful Yokai Watch fan, I have watched every single movies from the first to the sixth. And as expected of this diverse franchise full of official content, some movies are more popular amongst audiences than others.

Yet, while looking for fan content on them, I found the Forever Friends movie to be barely exploited, even though it has enormous potential both in storytelling lore, and characters.

Which is why I'm asking every Yokai Watch Movie connoisseur !

Are there still Yokai Watch Forever Friends fans today ? Fanfiction writers, fanartists, theorists, music composers, video creators...

Let's all unite and share together our works on this unknown Yokai Watch gem !

Rinne backstory translation

Someone asked me for a translation for the backstory of YW:Puni Puni’s latest Z-rank yo-kai. I’m sure they’re not the only ones interested in reading it, so I’ll share it with you all.

輪廻には人間ともだちがいた 妖怪をこわがらないどこか不思議な女の子だった Rinne once had a human friend. She was a mysterious girl who was unafraid of yo-kai.

彼女は　人間との友好を築けず行き場を失った妖怪たちを助けていた She saved yo-kai who have lost their homes and who have never made a friend with humans before.

人間と妖怪とが　友好に向けお互いに歩み寄ろうとする中で 大きな争いがおこった彼女はその争いにより命を落とす She lost her life in a conflict that started while she was trying to make peace and mutual friendship between the humans and yo-kai.

おして輪廻は友好を唱えた張本人であるエンマ大王にたどり着いた… In spite of this, Rinne struggled against the great Enma, who advocated for friendship.

ねぇ　輪廻。 あなたは覚えているかしら？ Hey Rinne. Do you remember that story?

いつだったか あなたがしてくれた 『輪廻』という言葉のお話…。 About the story called “Rinne” that you always told…

私ね　あのお話が大好きなの。 I really love that story.

『輪廻』のいみは… About what “Rinne” meant… 「魂が　時間も場所をも越えて生まれ変わること」

そう数えてくれたね。 You told me that it means, “When a soul surpasses time and space to be born again”

あなたは「永遠に続く苦しみ」 って　いってたけど… きっと　繰り返すのは 苦しいことばかりじゃないよ。 For you, it was “Endless continuous suffering” but… it wasn’t only just endlessly repeating suffering.

😭 That's so sad, I wasn't aware Rinne went through so much !! The little girl probably ended in the Infinite Inferno and that's why Rinne never saw her as a yokai !

"Endless continuous suffering" what a name for him... I didn't cry at the end of her letter you have no proof- 😭

Ok was someone supposed to tell me that apparently the Yw manga ends with absolutely EVERYONE getting obliviated or was I supposed to learn it myself by looking at a twitter account’s likes???

Too be fair ive heard thay it was just enmas palace that blew up from different translation and the protags are fine.

But either way..

If they did die tho at least they live on in my 60+ AUs

I also thought they all died, but actually it may be far less extreme than that-

This image was not the only one leaked by Konishi to promote his manga ! There was another one he posted before, revealing a bit more about the scenario.

These two images of the 23rd volume show us the Godfather who seems to have freed every bosses of the different games from the Infinite Inferno, very probably in order to take back the throne of the Yomakai.

And judging by how strong he has become now, it could mean that the manga panel with Nate and the others smiling rather happen when the Ghoulfather was beaten and exploded in a street near the palace, and the shockwave of the explosion is strong enough to make believe that it touched the whole city.

I could definitely be wrong, but I don't think Konishi would "spoil" the surprise and dramatic ending of a manga he's been caring for for all these years. Unless, there wouldn't be any point in reading it, or at least not as much excitement.

But anyway, this is just my theory about this matter, I may be completely wrong, and I'm sorry if that's the case '^^

What do you think of "zazel x enma"??

If we strictly talk about Shadow Side, then I don't hate it, their dynamic could be really interesting regarding the second movie and the evolution Zazel has undergone.

However, Zazel X Enma from the second movie is absolutely cursed in my opinion. The fact that Enma is still a child and is shipped with an adult already feels wrong, and even more disturbing when we know that Zazel is still mourning the loss of Ancient Enma ! Zazel has already endured too much trauma to be shipped with the cause of his pain.

I see more Zazel as a parental figure for Enma. The poor king couldn't rely on anybody after Ancient Enma past away, and his chairman was basically the only adult around that could help him navigate through the hardships of what it meant to become a king.

Please give Zazel some friends as well, and therapy to Enma- ;-;

My new favorite characters of the Yokai Watch franchise.

Translation Work in Yokai Watch.

One day will come the time for Yokai Watch 4 to finally be localized around the world, for american and European fans to enjoy.

But when translating a game, numerous factors have to be taken into account. Translating places, concepts, and of course... yokai and the different Watchers.

So, while waiting for official names, here are some ideas we had with a friend of mine of names to give to the different human characters of the game !

Don't hesitate to share any of your ideas as well !

(Also this post isn't meant to be taken too seriously, it's not as long and developped as usual so please take it with a grain of salt !)

1/ Akinori : Esteban.

I know Akinori already has Bruno as an english name, but considering the Encanto character bearing the same name... changing it doesn't sound too far-fetched ! Esteban could be a good name for him, as it is also the main character of "The Mysterious Cities of Gold", with a personality greatly matching Akinori's. Moreover, Esteban is traveling in a golden bird, that we could associate to Suzaku.

2/ Haruya and Ganryuu : Alan and Yohann.

Remaining in Shadow Side, Haruya and Ganryuu could get matching names in pronunciation, as to link them in their objective of finding their princess. This is why Alan and Yohann could correspond well to them.

3/ Shin/Itsuki/Tae : Martin/Basil, Alistair and Rose.

And lastly, moving on to Forever Friends, names for Shin, Itsuki and Tae could be interpreted in multiple ways.

Shin's german name Martin sounded quite fitting for him, as this name usually reflects an altruistic person, with a fear of the unknown. His alternative name Basil is linked to Tae's name Rose, in order to hint their future marriage. As for Itsuki, Alistair also reflected a lot of his personality, as it is a name corresponding to an ambitious soul unafraid of danger, and seeking for other's approval. Lastly, Tae's name Rose is a mirror of Shin's, both of them being flowers.

These are all the names for now, don't hesitate to tell me if I should do more !
