Fiyero thing
i know people feel weird about saying 'nonbinary people are nonbinary' because it's grammatically clumsy at first glance and hit the "and nonbinary people are valid" instead because that isn't but also nonbinary people are nonbinary. pretty essentially. trans men are men, trans women are women, and nonbinary people are nonbinary. and they aren't (universally) 'too powerful to be contained by the gender binary', they aren't (universally) 'creatures', they aren't (universally) 'incomprehensible'. why would you feel weird about saying 'nonbinary' when it fulfills the same purpose as these other phrases?
fighting so hard not to start another wip right now đđđ
go awayyyy idea
me: i have 3 wips i need to finish and million other responsibilities, i CANNOT start another fic
my brain: yeah cool but what if elphaba had a cryptic pregnancy
Shout out to the (many) times I got called an elitist gatekeeper for saying that the only real way to fully understand a work of fiction is to experience it firsthand and that summaries and reviews are not a replacement for that
Me, reading the first 80% of the post: What do you mean, "experience it firsthand"? How am I supposed to join the Hunger Games or go on the Odyssey?
Me, reading the final clause of the post: Oh, you literally meant that people have to read the book/listen to the audiobook in order to fully understand it. And people got mad. Oh dear.
To quote what a friend of mine said after she watched Jerry Maguire (1996) for the first time, having thought she knew what it was about because of its cultural ubiquity: âyou miss a lot of a movie when you donât watch itâ
jkr is literally posting upskirt photos to her social media. when will it finally get through to harry potter fans that their support makes her feel confident and correct enough to do things like this
If the holocaust denialism SOMEHOW wasn't enough for you to shut up about your favourite kids book as an adult; JK Rowling just committed a sex crime IRL against a transgender woman.
When do we start to care.

you can pry starting sentences with 'and' or 'but' out of my cold, dead hands
op how does it feel to be the most correct person on earth
I simply believe that Fiyero should've gotten an extra song too, because how do you have Jonathan Bailey and only have him sing two songs.

new chapter up! finally, lol
pro choice means youre pro choice even if the reason someone wants an abortion is morally wrong in your eyes
edit: you guys are losing comment privelege + ive had an abortion so go suck my fat cock
edit 2: (all of these are generalised and mean some people) people dont want disabled kids because society isnt set up for disabled kids and parents get 0 support with extra needs. people dont want girls because we have a patriachal society and women arent seen as providers or important. disabled parents that can pass down disabilities dont want kids because of how hard their own life has been. these are all societal issues not issues to do with morals lol
I'm from a community where we are strongly encouraged to get genetic testing before we make any decisions about having children.
This is because so many of us are carriers for tay-sachs, aka the incurable neurodegenerative disease that kills before age four.
I would also point out that requiring someone to have an acceptable reason for their abortion means that you are requiring them to disclose the reason for their abortion, no matter how personal and painful it is.
If it's not your body, it's not any of your goddamn business.

snippet from my fiyeraba soulmate au <3
âI donât want to disturb your rest,â Fiyero murmured with his mouth against her hairline, âbut does the world lookâŠdifferent to you?â
Elphaba groggily opened her eyes, lifting her head from his chest.Â
Strangely, it did.Â
The moon was almost blindingly silver, glowing like a beacon in the sky. The vines twining around the branches that made up her walls were vibrantly green against the dark chocolate bark in a way they hadnât been before; the golden light from her lanterns seemed to outshine the sun. The world had had color before, but now it was so much more, enhanced in a way that was nearly impossible to describe. When she looked down, the contrast between her skin and Fiyeroâs seemed like a color palette that belonged in a painting by the most revered artist in Oz. Her braids around his fingers looked as inky black and shimmering as the night sky.
âThat wasnât in my reading,â she whispered, stupefied.
He kissed her temple and she could feel him smiling. âMaybe itâs us. Maybe weâre special.â
She rolled her eyes, skeptical, but her chest felt warm as she settled back against him.
closing statement from an article about being intersex & the possible connection of gender expression and sexuality in intersex individuals, published in The Gay Liberator, 1970s
[ID: a picture of an article that says, âHopefully gay liberation will continue to raise confusing issues until the world at large becomes so confused and befuddled about sex and gender and all that people can finally stop worrying if "it's a boy or a girl" and get around to being free to be and to love people.â /end ID]
There isnât a way to woke-ify gender segregation, btw. âSingle gender/sex spacesâ always have been and always will be exorsexist, misogynistic, intersexist, and transphobic.
And changing the language from âwomen onlyâ to ânon men onlyâ to try to make it sound less TERF-y doesnât make it any less bigoted. Think about it. Thereâs no way to actually enforce a space being strictly âfemale only/women only/non men onlyâ without relying on regressive stereotypes or assumptions about the complexities of other peopleâs gender experiences (or lack thereof), and thereâs no way to create a âfemale/women/non men onlyâ space without implicitly inviting everyone in the space to go around questioning whether anyone coming to the space is ânon man enough/woman enoughâ to exist there, creating an unwelcoming environment for anyone who isnât strictly gender conforming.
