When the CEO of the company that didn't turn away Nazi business says "this isn't going to work" you know it's bad.
404 has been knocking it out of the park since they started. Please support their original reporting on this! If you subscribe to nothing else I highly recommend them. Their podcast is great too.
Planning documents for "Scout" say the plan is to "make people addicted" to the tool before adding new features.
A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Let’s fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.
No, this is not taken out of context. He really said this just like this, word for word.
I mean, he basically goes on to say they took out 22 Iranian ships and got millions of barrels of oil??? Predictably, no one asked a follow-up question. He thinks inflation is only high because the war he started in Iran because he lied every single day, saying there was no inflation, but it was 2.9%/3.0% the whole time. THEN 3.8% during this war and now 4.2%.
Every expert says at this point no matter how soon this ends, gas prices may not go back to normal until 2030-2032. He's so fucked.
WHAT happened to monster of the week shows???
I miss Grimm
The right-wing president has been in office for 7 months and done exactly what you'd expect, nothing to help the people, so they demand nothing short of his resignation! Good on them to see the error of their ways, as the farmers did their part in electing him, and immediately take action! If only we as a country had the balls!
Lex: here is some advice from an old pro. When Valor is in trouble. Supergirl is a danger to herself. When Supergirl is in trouble. Valor is a danger to everybody else.

Euros over here for the World Cup discovering we were right about this

Nothing more painful than when a kind stranger tells you about some random AI feature in a way that is clearly meant to be helpful and you have to choose between nodding along in despair or turning wokezilla 3000 on them
