when you realise ādanny boyā fits jackās storyline perfectly
why couldnāt jackās ādream sequenceā from WHC christmas special be Elizabethās dream instead of Abigailās? Surely it would have made more sense particularly right before she tells a suitor āheāsā the one she chooses⦠jack giving her an incentive in her dreams to assure her itās okay to pick up the pieces of her heart and move on with some one new?
rosie and lee need a child a proper child they can care for ā not a few episode long foster system looking after their niece for a few weeks. I want to see their relationship grow and develop as they navigate parenthood. itās a more exciting story concept to me than even what elizabethās up to these days.
we donāt need a s9 we need a complete retool of s8
About Nathan and Elizabeth I was gland to see it. She maybe not in love with him but she love him and care deeply. He is the mountie for all the people of Hope Valley so if Elizabeth or Lucas need his help he will be there. Why think that he should not interact with them? You are right there is no chance for a change of heart so I will continue to appreciate all the BTS we will get. Normally Paul was the one who post the most during the filming so Deluise pitch in. A lot of beard though!
Of course he would be there for anyone in need of his help. He's an honorable man and has a strong sense of duty. Most likely the scene isn't about her needing his help. She's probably seeking him out to butt into his business like usual when it's not her place. If she cared about Nathan so deeply, she wouldn't have treated him so poorly and led him on for years only to claim that she was merely seeing her dead husband in him. But we're not here to rehash the completely ridiculous finale.
If you're excited--great. I'm happy for you. The rest of us are still very annoyed.
hmmm, maybe e will get jelly if n has a new li and realise it was wrong to treat him that way. one can dream...
timestamp roulette ā WHEN CALLS THE HEART - 1x01: Lost and Found
New Tag Alert #wcth safe
It can be frustrating to see certain content in the main When Calls the Heart tag. I donāt know about the rest of you, but if I never see Lucas and Elizabeth again itāll be too soon.Ā
So let me introduce #wcth safe. I will be using that tag moving forward to post any content that does not include those two terrible characters. If you are still interested in seeing the other characters and want to keep up with their journeys in Hope Valley, hopefully you will find this tag helpful in doing so. It can be your safe space to enjoy content without having to worry about potentially being triggered.Ā
This blog will also remain a safe space. I will not be posting any Lucas and Elizabeth gifs or edits (because ew no one wants to see that). I most likely wonāt post any of them individually either. Iād prefer to never even mention them if we can manage that. Letās just pretend they donāt exist. Sound good?
WCTH SEASON 9 - DAY 1
22 JULY 2021
when is brian bird going to realise that when calls the heart is a family show about the community of hope valley. yes elizabeth is the main character and we should primarily focus on her but the entire backdrop is a community struggling with loss and coping with wavering fears and afflictions with god. strength and guidance between peers and an overcoming circle of hope and renewal, but how can the community be strengthened. outside of hope valley is the audience, an audience with the common goal and interest in watching elizabeth find her way in this town and to find her place with these people when is assigned her first teaching post, by having storylines that come away from that or be choppy and uneven in some places (i know that the pandemic was difficult - but thatās really only for the filming, not really writing processes) in what you call a rebirth after the death of a major character. in what essentially divided the audience and the fans of the show. that isnāt coming together, thatās pulling apart. iām so sorry but i donāt think i can support this show any longer. i had my reservations about the new seasons but this is far beyond what i predicted. iāll always love you hearties and i always will cherish the memories and revisit as often as i can but this is officially the end for me. so long when calls the heart. - lizzie t

realising elizabeth is widowed longer than sheās been married š
thereās a very good correspondence from a WCTH fan on instagram to the writers and creators of the show and to hallmark about the fans disapproval and pain over the recent season eight. the link is below if you want to read it.

I have been enjoying the show since the beginning and a lot of the appeal was Elizabeth's trials in a frontier town after such a life of privilege. With the widows and coal mine, it became an interesting story. It was my understanding that McNally had originally been considered for the part of the mountie?? He wouldn't become the leading man then? Again, part of the arc was Elizabeth's story of frontier life and her writing of the experiences. I feel that is being lost. She'll have chef n
You didnāt finish your thought but youāre not alone in your thinking if Iām understanding correctly.Ā Iāve seen this type of comment a lot.
Yes, Chris did originally read for Nathan.Ā If weāre to believe the decision of who would end up with Elizabeth wasnāt made until season 8, both men were in consideration from the beginning.Ā Neither was deemed the new leading man from the start.
Elizabethās whole story from the beginning was of a woman from wealth giving all of that up and following her calling to come out west to teach.Ā She left the high society life in Hamilton for the frontier and weāve watched her adapt to her surroundings and build her life.Ā Now, sheās chosen a man who represents her previous life in Hamilton in a lot of ways.Ā Apparently thatās what appeals to her again now even though sheās said otherwise before.Ā I think thatās where the disconnect comes in with this.Ā She likes what Hope Valley has to offer but I guess sheās been missing some of the lifestyle she was used to before and Lucas will give her that.Ā Itās not the story most viewers were expecting given what the show has always been about.Ā Thatās not to say it canāt change... but people didnāt think it would and thatās causing some concern when it comes to Elizabeth and the journey people expected that character to go on.
couldnāt have put it better myself
i WILL NOT tolerate any opinion bashing on my blogs. this is cruel, unethical and not the spirit of this site. some truths will hurt you and disagree with you and thatās okay. if everyone thought the same, weād be a very boring human race. thank you.
the so called love triangle weāve been force to watch.
(i hope the dog wasnāt hurt)
congratulations hallmark youāve cheated your audience out of a beautiful period romance twice over. people were willing to forgive you for jacks death and see what else you had to offer only to disappoint them further when you have created bad storylines (and considering you had a pandemic, they really should have been top notch) infuriating outcomes and a suck face sloppy kiss between the weirdest couple iāve ever seen.
trust has been broken iām surprised itās been picked up for a ninth season.
so, iāve been doing a little digging and refreshed my mind on this love triangle thing and iāve come to this conclusion.
elizabeth was grieving the love for her husband and fighting her feelings for saloon boy lucas.
this whole time weāve been watching elizabeth juggle teaching, motherhood, and widowhood. while trying to find her ālifetime loveā in lucas. but she was never over jack at the time. seeing nathan was hard for her because it reminded her so much of jack when nathan first took the job at hope valley.
and it sickens me to realise that nathan was never in the equation to begin with. if we are to believe elizabeth when she says that she loved nathan because she was trying to replace jack with him and kept seeking a similarity between jack and nathan; then this whole ālove triangleā thing is hellishly cruel.
the writerās really did us dirty with nathan grant. and so did elizabeth.
she tried so hard to picture jack being alive in the form of nathan. it distorted her, it changed her. into a version of herself which i do not like. i saw the comments on instagram and one in particular really stood out.
it said that lucas never really shows interest in elizabethās marriage to jack and never really acknowledges it, seemingly ignoring the fact that she was even married in the first place (i know that he noticed she took off her rings on the barf bridge in the finale - besides the point) i can back this up from what iāve picked up on in season six where the meet for the first time outside the saloon and immediately flirts with her like a typical playboy. he only really backs off when she hears sheās married. but hereās the thing. once he knows for certain thatās heās available and that actually sheās widowed, the look on his face when he realises he has his chance. he just cannot wait to have his way with her. thatās kinda cruel. i know elizabethās beautiful and everything, but does everybody have to have a crush on her??
and not once has he had any mention of little jack. if he is referring to him heās not referring to him by name, just by nickname or by association. when eli and lucas kiss, he said to her āyour the only one that matters to meā
like what?? heās completely neglecting the fact that she has a child.
hereās another instagram comment snippet that caught my attention. this one says that (quite rightly) the writers have made elizabeth āgo backwardsā in a sense that she left the high society life to go live a homely life in the west frontiers only to be enticed back into it by the richest man in town, new dresses, a childish last scene in ep 12; so cringe. enjoying ādatesā of wining and dining with lucas throughout season eight to choosing that in the finale over the humble farm life nathan could have offered her and her son. i hope elizabeth doesnāt expect lucas to teach little jack how to become slick city boy when he grows up ( thatās even if he notices jack jr) nathan was hoping to give elizabeth the frontier life that jack wasnāt able to. lucas probably hopes to become even richer by marrying a wealthy heiress widow.
the shows about the love story and the passions between a teacher and a mountie. end of story.
it could have done with ending it with the thornton wedding and having a little epilogue afterwards. not this pathetic attempt to bring back a mountie character only to have him thrown under the stagecoach.
