Augh, it's been so long! I'm so sorry about disappearing for a bit guys, with the start of school and other assorted problems my time management went out the window and into. Sleeping, mostly. But with midterms done, and other things a bit more settled and I less stressed, I think I can finally pick back up where I was. I feel like I've missed so much, sorry ahead of time if I seem like I'm playing catch-up with some things! I'm excited to read some Round 2's and get some drawing done, (Man, I didn't draw for a month straight. Insane.) and hopefully some asks answered!

Long story short Xander is like everything Esta didn’t like in the Researcher faction (aka he reminds her of her parents. Like a lot. Like a scary amount. I never realized this and I’m now sitting in horror.) and Kiki does not know what to make of him so uh walks away quickly.

Queen Esther in the book of the Bible saved all the Jews in Persia from being exterminated. Maybe Esta will save all the colonists from extermination :-B

ESTHER

Possibly means "star" in Persian. Alternatively it could be a derivative of the name of the Near Eastern goddess Ishtar. The Book of Esther in the Old Testament tells the story of Queen Esther who became a 5th century Queen of Persia.

Esta, or the other name she goes by, Estelle, also mean "star", so there wasn't much difference there. I always wanted to name a character Esther, so it seemed perfect in the end.

ARIA

Aria as a female given name, Aria (לביאה) means 'lioness' in Hebrew, or 'air' in Italian.

 I actually originally messed up here- her last name was supposed to be Arias. However I kind of typoed and rolled with it. Both meanings are pretty sweet though I gotta say.

KIERAN

The name Kieran is an Irish baby name. In Irish the meaning of the name Kieran is: Black or dark.

 I remember I wanted a sort of cutesy boy name, or one that would lend itself to cute nicknames. It still tickles me I gave a name usually designated to dark haired boys to a blonde pft.

SHEPARD

A shepherd /ˈʃɛpərd/, or sheepherder, is a person who tends, herds, feeds, or guards herds of sheep. The word stems from an amalgam of sheep herder.

 Pretty straight forward, I thought it would be funny since he owns sheep and goat Pokemon. Also I supposed some people would consider Specialist Faction sort of herd-like, or sheep-like hmmm... It's spelled a couple different ways as a last (or first) name, but I decided to go with Shepard for the Mass Effect reference, not gonna lie.
