GOD BLESS AMERICA. AND HE NAMED EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN COUNTRY
There is so much to be said about the way hudson williams is handling this press tour that i don’t even know where to start, but. something incredibly groundbreaking and significant in the way he sits through those interviews with, more often than not, famous straight white men, and is not for a single second bashful or embarrassed or cowed by them. if they reference the sex scenes, he will speak of them with pride: yes he was on all fours, yes he was naked, yes he can’t wait to get bent over in season 2. the unapologetic way in which he walks into those studios and charms the pants off every person he meets and doesn’t give an inch of a ground feels revolutionary to me. he sits there and humbles everyone by being funnier than they could ever hope to be with the cleanest skin they’ve ever seen while somehow having a correct take on every single issue they ask him about. i am just completely floored and i think it’s so important, the pride he is taking in his role and the way he speaks about connor too, with so much care and love that he doesn’t give a fuck about people seeing. he’s completely rewriting the game and his blunt unapologetic charm while doing that is so refreshing
shane hollander in the long game is kind of theee most relatable and sympathetic character to me tbh. like imagine spending your whole career doing brand deals to make more and more and more money and then you build an entire cottage with that money to make a sanctuary for you and the man you love, so that he can tell you he loves you in a safe place, and you give him a plan for the next 20 years of your lives as a gift to show how much you love him and then he stops wanting the plan and wants to change it things but doesn’t tell you so a resentment builds that you can’t stop and aren’t sure how it started because you’re autistic. imagine winning two stanley cups in a row for your team and being godfather to your teammate’s children and pushing yourself every day to be the best hockey player in the league to make yourself inscrutable in the eyes of literally anyone only to have your team turn on you and say they don’t trust you anymore and completely ostracize you over the one thing you kept secret out of fear of that exact ostracization so they’re basically realizing your worst fears. imagine bending over backwards your entire life to make sure that you’re the best at what you do because you sincerely believe that if you’re perfect enough then they can’t judge you for being gay or judge the man you love because how can you argue against perfection? only to realize that the sport you adore and have put your whole life force into could mean absolutely nothing to the people in charge of iy an instant if it meant their profits would drop or if it supported people like you. and on top of that the love of your life is depressed and you’re terrified for him and also confused because he’s angry even though all of this was for him even if it’s not what he wants anymore. and you’re trying desperately to fix everything for everyone only to be met with things that can’t be fixed and so you panic and everything starts slipping through your fingers and you’re not doing or saying the right things and you can’t stop it. and also you have a man bun.
#Joke asides, this is actually important
I have...Svetlana. She loves me. And I love her.
He remembered being so happy to see him. Even now, just knowing that Ilya had made the trip to the hospital filled Shane with a tingly warmth. Shane was completely in love with him. He would hit his head all over again just to be alone in that quiet hospital room with those careful fingers and those concerned eyes.

Not like I love you.
Heated Rivalry Episode 5/6 Predictions
So first of all, the next two episodes better be closer to an hour long.
Episode 5 Predictions:
Rose and Shane breakup right at the beginning. There's a shot in the trailer of her asking him if there are any gay hockey players and that happens during the breakup/coming out convo, so given everything else that needs to happen, my guess is this is the first scene of Episode 5.
All Star Game. We're definitely getting the hotel bar scene and the pool scene since there's been behind the scenes photos and videos of that. Hudson Williams mentioned he auditioned with a scene where he was pouring his heart out and some people speculated that was the convo they have at the All Star Game. This would make sense because they also need to have Ilya talk about his parents and have Shane suggest he come to the cottage.
Ilya's dad dies/Russian phone call. Jacob Tierney said he wrote a 5 page monologue for this scene and I'm so excited to see Connor Storrie absolutely crush it.
Skype sex. I saw people thinking they might cut this out for time, but they have gone through the trouble of showing Shane with glasses and giving him freckles so it would be such a shame for Ilya to never comment on it.
Shane gets hurt. I saw predictions this would be cut for time as well, but considering they set Cliff Marlow up as a side character, I don't think it would make sense to cut it. Plus they need to have a reason for both Boston and Montreal not to win the Cup. I do think they might cut out Ilya visting Shane at the hospital. But as long as we get the scene of him seeing the injury on the ice, I'm happy.
Scott kisses Kip after New York wins the cup. I do wonder if they're gonna have more lead up to this or its just gonna be something that Shane and Ilya see on the TV. Connor mentioned the way it happens is really cool, so I feel like there's something more than them just watching the screen going on. Like maybe it starts from Scott's point of view and then goes to Shane and Ilya watching.
The last line of the episode is 'I'm coming to the cottage'.
Episode 6 Predictions:
Jacob Tierney mentioned that the entire episode takes place in one location, so I'm guessing it opens on them pulling up to the cottage in the car.
Hudson and Connor mentioned they filmed the scene talking about how Ilya was jealous that Scott got to kiss Kip on TV.
Since there's merch related to the 'wolf bird' I'm assuming the burger scene is included.
There's a still of Shane's parents in front of a house, so it will most likely include Shane's parents finding out.
Apparently the ending is a little different so I wonder if they don't include the epilogue scene and the ending scene just takes place more immediately after the cabin.
Since they are getting a season 2 and it will probably be the story of The Long Game, it might make more sense for that one to open with the press conference about their charity.
Since people who got screeners of Episode 5 said it was about 55 minutes long, here's how ideally I would hope it plays out:
5 mins: Shane and Rose break up.
15 mins: All Star Game.
15 mins: Ilya's dad dies and phone call from Russia.
10 mins: Video call.
5 mins: Shane gets injured.
5 mins: Scott and Kip. This section might be longer just because in the show timeline they've been apart for 3 years so there will need to be a way to show what they've been doing that whole time and what causes Scott to ultimately make his Big Decision.

HEATED RIVALRY 1.04
just to clarify, ilya rozanov doesn't care at all that shane hollander is dating rose landry.
