Sometimes Good Omens fans drive me insane. But in a weirdly good way? The majority of you are frustrated with Aziraphale and Crowley, lamenting that they don't just talk to each other. And here's the thing.... Crowley flat out said "we've been talking for millions of years!"

I'd say the majority of GO fans are LGBTQIA+. You don't understand your own queer history. In many ways that is a gift! You haven't experienced the fear, the lectures, the laws that kept you from your loved one or forced you to pretend to be just friends. And don't get me wrong I'm GLAD that you haven't had to experience that!

But I did.

And people farther back than me had worse. CURRENTLY, 12 countries STILL carry the death penalty for sodomy (that's gay sex between males if you didn't know)

Obviously I wasn't born back then. And I'm female shaped, so me and my (mostly) feminine partner were the butt of jokes, and we're outcast, sneered st, followed around, and a lot of guys fetishized us. Publicly

In Good Omens, Crowley and Aziraphale are obviously meant to represent two gay men. (They represent a lot of things but I'm focusing on the gay part) It is ILLEGAL to be companionable! If they "accidentally" bumped into each other during their work, they were expected to AT LEAST act hatefully towards each other.

Harsh reminder that the show told us multiple times that Heaven and Hell could hear their conversations! See Aziraphale saying that Crowley has done 'a good deed indeed' followed by Crowley being yanked to Hell immediately! And when we saw him next he was leaning on a cane and barely moved!

They aren't idiots, they KNOW they are in love, they know that they are loved by the other.

They are avoiding the death penalty! They "quit" their respective jobs as spectacularly as they could, HOPING their Offices would not come for them out of fear of what they would do; a demon and angel who cannot be destroyed by holy water and hellfire.

The Metatron arrived and told Aziraphale to heel. The angel cannot refuse! ESPECIALLY when Crowley is threatened. Metatron said it in a mild way but he absolutely told the Angel that Crowley would be destroyed if Aziraphale didn't comply.

Beelzebub yoinked Crowley back down to Hell with ease. Offered him a high position DESPITE him flagrantly quitting Hell and demonic acts. Beelzebub ASSUMED Crowley would 'rejoin their team'!

Aziraphale went to Heaven, to change the laws and live happily - as a male in love and having sex with another male - without fear of punishment or hindrance.

The South Downs cottage cosplay (with a garden)

On a random October evening, I decided it could be a fun idea to cosplay the South Downs cottage at The Ineffable Con. So I built one. Out of cardboard, popsicle sticks, acrylic paint, and an embarrassing amount of glue.

This project took me more than half a year and became a journey through visual storytelling, mixed media crafting, fun art techniques, and various engineering challenges. Such as - how do you actually wear a cottage? Or transport it by plane to England?

I needed the cottage not only to be wearable but also collapsible and transportable. Which is why every part – including the cottage itself – uses a system of Velcro strips, neodymium magnets, and metal tape to hold everything together (more on that in a separate post with a ridiculously long video of me assembling the cottage while my friend laughs at me).

Designing this system was challenging but extremely rewarding because now the cottage can travel. Which means I was able to take it to the South Downs, where it belongs. And bring the ineffable husbands home.

The walls are painted with acrylics (because of my trial-and-error painting technique, they now have more layers than a Shakespeare character, but at least the cottage is insulated for winter). The roof, windows, and door are all made from popsicle sticks.

The pictures in the windows are real British cottage interiors that I edited to create scenes from Aziraphale and Crowley’s domestic life. If you look closely, you’ll find quite a few easter eggs hidden within them. (See the photos in detail here.)

The miniatures (also coming in a separate post soon) are mostly handmade using various materials. From the St James's Park bench to Aziraphale's spectacles to Crowley's smartphone, they aim to tell the story of two ineffable beings finally coming home to each other.

From the very beginning, the idea was to create a forever home for Aziraphale and Crowley. But beyond that, I also wanted to incorporate fandom references into its very walls - to make the cottage a blend of the fictional world and the real one. Because Good Omens has always been more than an isolated work of fiction. It is also the people who surround it - their ideas, creations, and the love they carry for the ineffable story.

And so, the South Downs cottage is my tribute not only to Aziraphale and Crowley’s happy ending, but also to the creators of Good Omens, and to the fandom that has made this world feel like home.

The prices are crazy, and most days my children survive on just bread Hunger and thirst are destroying us, and cooking on fire increases our suffering unbearably! Severe eye and chest sensitivity, in addition to constant stomach pain due to the type of food and the way it is cooked.

All this while we flee from one place to another in fear of bombing, bullets, and imminent danger! I cannot describe what I feel, but it is a feeling beyond exhaustion!

Since I've had the time, I've been going through my own personal shit to do with mental health - the aftermath of my childhood SA, for a start, and what thought patterns and beliefs I could unlearn from them. Won't go too much into it, but damn there's been a lot to unravel recently...

In the meantime, I've been having several dreams involving a certain Mr. Neil Gaiman - a naïvely placed favourite of mine. And in short, I just want to say;

Everything about him makes me deeply uncomfortable now especially considering what I've pushed away and not dealt with for so long.

It might seem like I'm making it personal but there are thousands (maybe tens of thousands) of women and girls in the world who go through this awful fucking shit on a daily basis and I've just about had enough of it.

You might be pleased to know I screamed and yelled and fucking got every last little thing out that I had to. I'm proud dream me had the courage to stand up to such a disgusting man, even if it was in my head. Nobody, but nobody should be put through the shit he's pulled. And damn it was cathartic even in my subconscious to completely destroy him. It felt like a little bit of closure for me at least. Then the news that's come out about his NDAs??? Suing people?? Honestly just choke.
