Battlebond: Valor (Chapter 7)
Valor’s Reach (Arena Front)
The sounds of swords is all that could be heard in front of the arena and then a crackle of magic. After the smoke cleared, a growl of frustration; he had missed his bounty once again.
“I see this is a different type of vampire, I see I’ll have to post a bounty and follow anyone who answers.”, he groaned but with sunrise a short time away it was logical. As he flew away he passed a window as a flame flickered at the table in the room. In the room sat Nat, unable to sleep from her indecisiveness of what to guess of Viset. He was distracted, just too distracted, maybe home was still on his mind. What was it? What as it?!! She shot up in her chair. “It’s me.”
Skygrowth Reach (Bridgeway/Council Chambers)
Huritt wasted no time rushing to the Council Chambers of Nadie Hausis. No matter his attempts to sneak in and out of Skygrowth Reach they would always know of his arrival.
So he simply kept moving as fast as he could, avoiding contact with anyone. Any number of spells could’ve been casted, regardless of Nadie’s barrier over the reach. He greeted her quickly as to get to the point right away, when she held her hand up to pause him.
“My daughter is in danger, in her attempt to run away from you.”, she begin to chide him. “Why not simply chase after her until she’s tired? You will at least have exhaustion in common.” A small bird landed on the table, usually a dead on the spot give away that Peta Kanti was in the room and did not like what she was hearing. She landed right next to her brother and looked at Nadie with the most serious resolve her face could muster and said “Draccrap.” As she recalled her bird she continued, “This is not something to be forced, you said so yourself. See him? I follow him, protect him, keep the maidens of your court from trying to give him a fancy. Where is Oota Dabun?!” Huritt nudges her not to bring it up but she continues anyway. “Here’s a Clue (2, Sacrifice this artifact: Draw a card.), Chief! She’s been chasing after my brother when she should be protecting Kimi Koko like I protect him!!” Huritt interrupted, “That’s enough!! Clearly if she had been trained in fighting she would protect her sister, you know that.” Nadie sunk her head which made Huritt apologize immediately. She pushed her words pass her embarrassment, “She herself has a defender, her father’s eagle, have you ever given notion to the fact she might want to learn from him?” Peta couldn’t believe her ears, time to nip this Goblin Springer show in the bud. “I can train Oota, when my brother is here she feels the need to be around. She’ll be around but she will not be hassling my brother, she needs this. Maybe if Kimi sees her sister being groomed into a potential warrior bride she’ll stop running and putting herself in danger. Nadie was happy, Huritt was relieved, and Peta-- was sick to her stomach. She darted her brother a look like, “You owe me, don’t screw up.”
Then she went outside where Oota already was trying to eavesdrop and started pulling her away by her headdress, she protested, “Mom, are you really gonna let her do this?!!”
