Deadshot being a default Suicide Squad member means we don't see him in Arkham much but he's well suited for the place if he wasn't Waller's favorite and she didn't have a shrink on hand to give him therapy I feels like he'd be there more. He's projected his dead brother onto both Batman and Rick Flag so I can imagine Batman's file on him isn't what people expect. He suicidal and unstable but not in a cartoonish joker-esque crazy so when he comes off as apathetic people assume he must be a sane silent brooding man type. Plus I fully believe he let Black Mask kill him because he was so done with life; so if he gets arrested they should ship him to Arkham. Let him be a menace to the bats for a bit. I wanna see them try to talk him down. Wanna see this man crash out again after thinking Batman's been killed. Put him in situations. Let things get fucked up on account of him having been such close friends with Bane. Bring back references to the time with Red Hood when he was undead. I wanna see this man spiral as he slowly starts rotting again and craving human flesh. He was there when the villains teamed up on account of the magical lobotomies. I wanna watch him call Batman on his shit I wanna watch him try and die for the man because that's his brother Eddie he takes it back he doesn't want to live he's getting worse and he's the type to believe he deserves hell because he's already an irredeemable asshole in his own mind. Catman was his better half and the man can't stand him anymore(or so he thinks). I want Deadshot to look a bat kid in the eye and tell them he can't be saved because he regrets nothing except be regrets everything and it's what fuels his self hatred. But he's done too much wrong to be forgiven. I want him to do it because some villain is trying to manipulate them into thinking they've changed to get an advantage. I want the bats to struggle dealing with a man who hates himself impulsively kills and thinks he's a monster when compared to someone who does good for all the wrong reasons. He's not here to be redeemed he's here for the trauma.

Deadshot headcanon

He dyes his hair it went from brown to black because his wanted poster had a brunette. Then when they updated it he went back to brown and grew it out. He also had a nose job. In the early Secret Six Simone draws him with a button nose then it gets bigger. Button noses are the kind of trait people find cute on women/girls but when a man gets older and has one they tend to get compared to a pug. I feel like that got to him and that he was considered a pretty boy in his youth because of it. These changes are why he's so confident walking around and not being recognized on the street by the authorities.

Been thinking about how Deadshot spent the longest time with the Secret Six and then it was implied he and Catman were a duo. Like Zoe was what 5 when he started visiting her again not long after he found out about her. Now she's a teenager that's about a decade. By default he's a Suicide squad character because of the 2016 movie that's what the mainstream knows him for and so that's how they advertise him when appealing to new readers. However I don't think he spent nearly as much time in the suicide squad as people think that's just the point he gets reset to in every well reset(rebirth, new 52). Getting dragged back to the suicide squad must have done a number on him. I was honestly disappointed with the new Secret Six comics it was a mini series and I wanted it to be so much more.

It's a little funny to me how confident Tom is in some fanfics. He nearly fumbled Huntress when he licked her neck during their dance. He used to have a thing for Batwoman yes the lesbian. Unlike Floyd and his initial flirtations with Scandal he blew up his schemes for Kate. I mean she hadn't been retconned as gay yet but they got there. He comes back confident after Africa but deep down he's a sad little meow meow.

Given the way Floyd talks to Tom in the secret six I always felt it was a classic case of he fell first but Tom fell harder. Thomas is just jealous and too stubborn to leave even after the shooting.

Was thinking about how Rick hated his coworkers. His dad mentioned at his funeral speaking to people his son could barely stand and like. Ok the movie when he asked if any checked if the Weasel could swim he doesn't seem surprised they were incompetent he's just pissed off but accepted it. Then we notice they're gambling on the suicide squad members and it's obvious they've done it before; they've probably bet on the lives of people Rick's come to care about and he knows it. Hell I bet he wonders if they've bet on his life.

like deadshot worked on the suicide squad for a good chunk of his life via bomb in his head, found out that he had actually been pardoned but wasn’t told that and forced to keep working on the squad, then DIED and STILL COULDNT GET AUTONOMY

and as he says, you would think that jason of all people would understand, but no, he’s just another in the line of people who’s willing to use floyd to achieve their own goal without his wants or needs being taken into consideration
