The funniest thing about the basketball scene was buck genuinely had nothing to be jealous about. The whole time Eddie was like “omg you wanna play basketball with ME? really? 🥹 hehe come and get me 😝come get the ball 🏀 I love you buck 🥰 I love playing basketball with my bestest friend in the world 🤗” and then buck broke his fucking ankle

and in my world? Eddie should be getting lost in thought staring at a pair of sweatpants he finds inexplicably behind the washing machine, that are too long for him. Eddie should be claiming he forgot to bring in the book into the station that Buck accidentally left behind in the move. He should be keeping the bottle of hand soap Buck left because it would be silly to take, long after it’s empty. Eddie should be showing pictures of his room’s setup to Buck and saying, “hahaha, this is the way you had your bed setup? It looks the same, right LOL? No, seriously, does it look like how you had it?” Eddie should be at Pepa’s telling her it’s weird that he can’t sleep, it just feels like Buck’s shadow is around every corner. He should be debating the ethics of bribing Chris to invite Buck over for a movie night.

i feel like we always talk about buddie’s first meeting from buck’s viewpoint, which is fair enough bc that’s how we experience it when we’re watching it. but eddie’s is low-key just as insane. imagine you start a new job in a very intense environment, your boss and coworkers are so excited to have you there and you settle in super quickly because they’re making it so easy. but then there’s this big guy who’s angry about you existing, either trying to impress or intimidate you (you’re not really sure which it is), you try and talk it out but he’s not having it, and you think ah well can’t win ‘em all. then he volunteers to extract a grenade from some guy’s leg with you, a super high pressure situation, and he’s still trying to make it a dick-measuring contest. you don’t care. but he does well and is very helpful so you extend an olive branch, “you can have my back any day.” and this fucker goes absolutely starry-eyed, tries to regain his composure, fails, your boss is watching the whole exchange, then an ambulance blows up. by the end of your shift big guy assumes you made it into the hot firefighter calendar because he thinks you’re that attractive. give it a few months, strangers are assuming you and big guy have a son together. wild.

buck is known to not really initiate physical touch with eddie outside of eddie almost dying, eddie needing comfort or theyre both drunk out of their minds. and yet when eddie is about to leave LA and goes to hug buck, buck does this:

he burrows himself as close as possible. in their other hugs hes also usually the last to pull away. i have to wonder how much he denies himself from touching eddie and how that’ll change when he realizes he can have everything. that they have everything together.

watching 911 and my mom its with me. i talk about the show all the time but shes never seen them before so i was showing her like thats my favorite (buck) and thats the one i wish was his boyfriend (eddie) and she said: damn no shit i also want him to be my boyfriend
