(A Rafayel x reader song fic)
Heavily inspired by the song Loml by Taylor Swift, that coincidentally came up just as I finished playing through the myth :)

“You’re the love of my life” you whisper into His arms, and you’re not sure if He’s shaking but there’s a grumble on His chest and the bond wraps around you like a soft blanket.
Please, don’t leave me again.
Rafayel’s voice fills your mind. You can feel it too, how torns blossom in His chest, pain clawing a gaping hole in your—His heart.
After all, you promised it, didn’t you?
Before all of this, before you even remembered. He had coaxed the words out of you with soft kisses and calculated flicks of His fingers.
“Tell me,” He had traced the side of your neck with His nose, “tell me you won’t leave my side.”
His fingertips had found the spot between your tights that made you shiver, and you felt His teeth playing with your earlobes.
“Be good for me.” He had commanded and His free hand found your face and forced you to look into His eyes.
Back in his chambers, lulled by the soft murmurs of the pool, He had traced the expanses of your body with something akin to reverence. All tender hands and firm words.
“Raf-aah, hmm. “You had whimpered, too drunk in your own pleasure to even comprehend what He was asking.
“Say it, promise it to me.” His scales had glimmered as He looked down at you. Hair creating a soft curtain around you as He kissed you, the pressure He was applying between your legs going in crescendo. “My beautiful bride,” His voice trembled, let me hear you.”
“Aahg-aah, Raf- ah-ayel, I promise”, you had all but moaned into His ear. “I’ll never leave you.”
Nevermind, you think now.
He kisses your cheek and you can hear a faint tune filling the space around you. The same one that soothed you in your sleep what feels like ages ago, back in your cage.
You raise your hand to his cheek and he nuzzles onto your palm. Was the look in his eyes always this sad?
Rafayel holds you impossibly closer, oh, you realize, he’s humming.
Your mind fades out of consciousness. As you float into the salty ocean air, you hear his stranded voice:
“You’re the lost of my life.”
A single pearl falls into nothingness. Then a void swallows you whole.
