My favorite thing about snake plissken is he's the coolest man on earth, but also a cringefail loser. He's been captured and blackmailed into working for the government not once but twice. He crashed a submarine. He's reliant on random passerby to go, hey isn't that snake plissken? and lore dump at him. He got himself captured by a weird underground surgical cult by refusing to read context clues.
