can't stop thinking about the logistics of that last scene with the 118 showing up at eddie's house. buck saying "okay guys i'll show up first right? because i'm the fake tenant who's actually the real tenant. and i'll tell him i'm gonna move in to his place. then three minutes later, you guys show up so we can go to dinner, okay?"

chim says "why can't we just all show up at the same time?"

buck says "oh well. because it's eddie, y'know? and he's not always--look, he loves you guys, right? you're family. but this is like difficult and vulnerable for him, and he's only Really himself around me. surely you are all aware of this."

they say "yeah i guess we are."

buck says "perfect. also if you guys aren't there when i tell him, maybe he'll kiss me. like a best friend kiss y'know?"

at dinner later, hen leans over to eddie, cheeks warm from alcohol and laughter. buck went to the bathroom a minute ago, but she doesn't think it would make much of a difference if he were here, anyway.

"you know, buck wanted us to wait outside while he told you about the sublet, 'cause he thought maybe you'd kiss him."

eddie grins. "yeah, i probably would've," he agrees, glancing around the room. hen doesn't ask; she knows he's looking for buck. "like a best friend kiss, y'know?"

hen orders a fourth margarita.

okay so, everyone is always telling buck that eddie has a resting bitch face, right? and buck is so so so adamant that he doesn’t and he fights everyone on it. he really can’t understand what people mean. he’s baffled when chimney makes jokes about eddie scaring patients with his stony expression. he is so confused when maddie tells him she was a bit intimated by eddie before they ever talked. buck just can’t believe that this is something people think.

until one day hen shows buck a video of eddie just chilling at the station while reading a magazine. and he looks so serious, so frowny. a little bitchy if buck is being totally honest. and then, in the video, buck walks up the stairs and as soon as eddie sees him he lights up. suddenly he’s all sunshine and rainbows. he’s all smiley and he just looks so soft.

and that’s how buck finds out that eddie does have a resting bitch face but buck never sees it because eddie always looks ecstatic when buck is near.

"sleep on it" is such a fun little concept but unfortunately i have all my best and worst ideas at 3am, i act on them at 3am after about 5 seconds of internal debate, and then i go to sleep and wake up the next morning to face the consequences.
