When a hunt goes bad, the fear of losing you becomes a harsh reality for The Mandalorian. Din doesn't understand why it affects him so severely.

He was angry with you, you could tell.
The way his shoulders bunched upwards, the stomp in his step, his heaving chest- it all pointed towards your theory.
You'd been around long enough to know when he was frustrated at a situation and when his ire was aimed at you. By the way his back remained towards you no matter where you stepped, it was definitely the latter.
"You can't ignore me forever," you mused, cringing hard. The blaster wound on your shoulder burned from the cool air of the ship.
"Unfortunately."
His words were a mutter but you heard them clearly.
Swallowing tightly, you turned towards the cockpit exit. How the hell were you meant to climb down? Your adrenaline had pushed you through the entry, but that was long gone from your system. Instead, you'd been abandoned with crippling pain and a limp arm.
"What were you thinking?" His voice was strained.
You forced yourself to breathe, withholding your own anger. You couldn't afford to have this conversation, medical treatment was the top priority. Even if your dismissal would drive the Mandalorian insane, knowledge of your injury would only worsen the situation.
"I was thinking," you begin tightly, turning to face the hunter. "That you were about to get killed."
"I'm covered in armor," he shook his head, "I would have been fine. You were reckless."
Indignation bubbled within your chest and against your better judgment, you stepped toward him. He remained seated, arms crossed against his chest as he watched your approach.
"You hadn't seen them, you were going to get fucked up and I would've been forced to watch it!" You snap, raising your good arm to point at him sharply. "As much as you drive me insane, I don't want to see you dead!"
He stood to his feet, walking crisply into your aimed finger. You allowed it to press against his chest plate, applying pressure as you continued.
"You wanna treat me like a fumbling idiot, that's fine! I'm no Mandalorian," you poke him hard with absolutely no effect. "But if you think I'm not going to try and stop you from getting killed then you're the fucking idiot, Din."
"You could've gotten killed," it was all but a snarl from beneath the helmet. "You weren't meant to be there in the first place, you were a distraction."
The words hurt, but you wouldn't let him onto that.
"It was your recklessness that put me there, to begin with," you started, incredulous. He had accidentally incited a shootout before you had managed to lock onto the bounty. "You were meant to wait!"
The Mandalorian took a sharp step forward, then another, forcing you to yield into the hard steel of the ship. "Don't you dare blame me, if you hadn't shot no one would have known you were there."
"If I hadn't shot," your words were quiet, palm now flat against his chest. "You would be dead, Din."
"I highly doubt it, mechanic."
The ship was doused in silence, interrupted only by the heavy breathing between you both. You swallowed hard, there it was.
Worth nothing more than your trade.
As if realizing the way he stood over you, the intimidation tactic he had pulled on many, he leaned back. His helmet swayed lightly and you could hear him clear his throat from beneath the dark abyss.
He looked down at the space between you, your hand pressed against his chest, pushing desperately for space. A request he realized he had blatantly ignored and forced himself through.
As if burned, he stepped away, allowing a few feet to act as a barricade. His gaze met yours beneath the helmet, an instinctive attempt to gauge your thoughts. Immediately, Din wished he hadn't said anything to begin with.
The hurt plastered across your face was enough to cripple him.
Your breath trembled as your fingers shakily came to rest on your bad arm, an attempt to cradle a tangible injury. You didn't know how to treat an emotional wound, perhaps today you would learn.
You try to wipe the betrayal from your face, schooling your expression to be stoic if not frustrated. "Right."
Your name balanced on the tip of his tongue, waiting for the right moment to fall. There was no correct timing, so Din held it.
"I'm going downstairs," you nod lightly, ignoring the thrashing pain from the movement. "Don't disturb me unless it's an emergency, Mandalorian."
And as he watched you descend the ladder with one arm, clueless as to the implications of an injury, Din remained quiet.
I know that people have already thought about this but I live under a rock. This is a really important moment of discovery for me.
I watched Shrek 2 again last night and when I went to bed I found that I was plagued with my thoughts and COULD. NOT. SLEEP. until I had solved it.
When donkey turned into the "noble steed" after drinking the beauty divine potion what the hell did Dragon turn into?
Considering Dragon is a fucking badass already and, in my humble opinion, already at her peak because shes fucking dragon what could she have possibly upgraded to?
The mushroom that had a taste of the divine potion turned into a ROSE that's an entirely new species with no relation to fungi, at least donkey's have a familial relationship with horses and ogres with humans but specie wise what the fuck does a mushroom and a rose have in common aside from growing out of the ground? You can't really upgrade a mushroom to a mightier version of a mushroom so maybe it's the same thing with Dragon maybe she became a new species. But then that begs the question, what is better than a DRAGON???
Unless she turned into Shenron.
Also, side note, why was Donkey so suprised when he turned back into a donkey when he knew that he had to kiss Dragon by midnight and she was presumably over 700 miles away??
When Dragon showed up she wasn't at all concerned, it was as if she hadn't just transformed into an entirely new species while Donkey was gone. She wasn't confused, not inquisitive, not even a little bit like "hey, babe, what tHE FUcK".
This brings me to my theory that MAYBE SHE DIDNT TRANSFORM.
Dragon was apparently pregnant throughout this entire ordeal and Donkey, who can communicate with Dragon had no idea beforehand?? He was so suprised when mutant dragon/donkey babies came outta nowhere like hoe you had no idea your wife was pregnant?
Coincidence? I THINK NOT.
SO the potion was technically called the Happily Ever After potion. While Donkey's happily ever after and concept of beauty was becoming a noble steed, Dragon is different. Because Dragon is a dragon.
Dragon is much more bestial and animalistic than the rest of the Shrek animal characters and they portray that by her being unable to speak any human language. From the get go she has been very primal and straight forward as fuck, as is shown in her mating process (basically instant attraction after being impressed or wooed).
Happily ever after potion fulfils your utmost desire in regards to physical/bodily change, all in order to help you reach your happily ever after. While Donkey perceived this change to simply be a superficial thing, Dragon could have interpreted it as being ABLE to have children with Donkey because of primal tingz. Dragon's happily ever after could have been having a family- hence why she was moody at the beginning of the movie- because reproduction doesn't biologically work between a dragon and a donkey and maybe the Happily Ever After potion was able to make that reproductive miracle mutation possible. All the potion did was allow for the conception of the children but once those children were conceived the potions job is finished there is literally no longer a need for it . So when it disappeared, that meant that she was no longer fertile to have another batch of kids.
For those who argue she was moody because she was pregnant, animals know when they are carrying young and for her to have given birth like 4 days later she would have had to be far into the pregnancy and Dragon is an intelligent being and has the ability to communicate in which she would have told her damn husband that she was pregnant if she was. But she didn't because she wasn't until the Happily Ever After Potion.
OKAY SO THIS MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE PLOT HOLES BUT GIVE ME ENOUGH TIMES AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESEARCH IT FURTHER I WILL PROVE IT AND FILL THOSE GAPS!
