The Accident (Closed Starter)
“Uhm…I don’t know who you are… But I mean no harm! I don’t want to fight you, I just wanna get through..” Aurora seemed rather frightened by the sudden threat. Though this wasn’t the first time someone encountered her like this since she’s been in the underground, why was everyone so violent here? However this monster seemed to make her feel the most uneasy compared to the others.
*You know I can’t let you pass, nor can I just kill you while you’re unarmed.
*I say that’s weak.
Undyne was starting to grow impatient with this human. If the child refused to cooperate, she just might kill them on the spot, but she didn’t. Instead, she inched the spear closer. While she attempted to remain calm and cool, a scowl began to take form.
(( @frisky-busiiness
And then he crouched down, jabbing him in the cheek. “Did I actually kill you? Or at least knock you out?” he asked himself, disbelief in his voice. It had just been a rock. Not like he cared if he had done this stranger in, he just wanted to know if he was somehow able to kill someone with only a rock.
When he got no response, he got back to his feet and, partially as a final check on this stranger’s status and partially because ‘why not?’, gave him a sharp kick in the side.
The moment the other’s foot dug into his side, the Troubadour’s reflexes told him to give the stranger a low sweep. His feet swiped at the other’s shins, hoping to knock him over. It was when he realized he gave himself away. He silently cursed at himself, muttering,
“Damn...”
Another day, Another Trainee
Asriel felt much more better and confident now that the spear was dulled down. It may be training but he didn’t wanna accidentally hurt someone doing it. Thus the word “Training” Not “Battle”. Playing with the spear for a few seconds as he twirled it around and started spinning it, he dropped it after a few seconds then quickly picked it back up with a sheepish chuckle.
“Yeah i’m ready now! Hehe!”
Undyne gave the child a toothy grin. While to her this seemed unfair, considering she’s very experienced when it comes to fighting, the warrior was glad she could make her student feel more comfortable. Now was time to fee the burn.
*That’s the spirit!
*Here I come!
With that, the fish monster lunged at the flank. Of course she didn’t use full force. Even with a dull weapon, she could kill someone with it.
Another day, Another Trainee
“Oh my gosh! Undyne! I’m so so sorry i didn’t think the spear would actually hurt you! Are you alright!?”
Asriel quickly panting upon noticing he actually hit undyne and it did a bit of damage, but his lack of paying attention cost him as the spear easily made contact with the boys side.
“Wha- Oh no fair i wasn’t paying attention! But seriously..Can you dull mine out so i don’t hurt you either?”
Dust began to leak from her hip; the wound was still fresh. Brushing it off like it was nothing, the warrior pulled back after her counterattack. It was when she realized he wasn’t focused.
*Don’t think about the enemy!
*You could get yourself killed if you don’t stay focused!
Letting out a quick sigh, she knew she couldn’t stay mad at him. The concern was appreciated, but really it was unnecessary. Her initial scowl shifted into something more pleasant. Undyne laughed.
*I’m fine, really!
*Training results in wounds like these all the time.
*But I can dull that spear for you.
Taking the glowing weapon from the child’s hands, it took only a mere moment before the spear dulled itself. Monster magic worked in such strange ways, and Undyne’s was no exception. She handed the spear back to Asriel.
*Now are you ready?
Leave the forest lifelesss? The plant tilted his head, thinking a bit on that first part of what Henry had said. Was that even possible? He kinda thought forests had an endless supply of animals to munch on whenever he needed to or pleased, and that whatever he would find within them was completely random or something. But how was a plant monster that knew nothing about how ecosystems work, let alone about much in general, to know of such things anyway?
“Urrgghkuurrrggh! (Okay!)” As much as he’d like to try his luck further, the plant chose to merely smile and nod his head instead. He would’ve loved to continue eating, but he supposed he could settle with only one more deer. Maybe.
The oaf agreed; what a relief. Henry wouldn't know what to do if he kept on insisting. As much as Henry loves bloodshed, even he wasn't so heartless as to dry up a forest of its animals. The boy’s smile had broadened.
“Alright, it’s settled then~”
He began to move at a steady pace. The Mage walked a little more slowly than usual; he needed to listen for the deer. The hoofed mammals sounded slightly different from most when they walked, at least to him. It was one thing he learned when being raised by wolves.
At last he heard one just over the bush. With a low cackle and a flick of a wrist, the prey dropped dead with a light thud.
“Enjoy!” he laughed.
Another day, Another Trainee
Count he shall. Asriel stood back and looked at undyne, her stance was perfect, it looked like nothing could get past the iron house that undyne was. There was literally no openings! Even if there was, she’d most likely close it almost instantly! What to do..
Having an idea, Asriel went for it!
“Hyaaa!!”
The goat thrusted forwards upward towards her head, before quickly shifting his body weight mid-point and thrusting the spear towards the fish monsters belly. will it land Eh. Probably not, but it was worth a shot.
Undyne, being the proud warrior she was, hadn't intersected the attack. Instead, she intended to duck. Her plan had come to a halt when Asriel shifted his position. She should've saw this coming.
Moving to dodge to the side, she was a tad too late. The spear sharply grazed at her side. The taste of her own weapon was quite bitter, but Undyne had been smiling; she was quite used to training injuries.
*Awesome job, Asriel!
*I’m about to start counter attacking, so be ready for it.
With that, Undyne stepped to the side before thrusting her dulled spear forward. She hadn’t lunged at full force; there was no way she was going to hurt an innocent monster child.
Forest Encounters||Ricken & Umbreon
After the Risen faded into dark energy, She started to feel tired. The first blow she took made her almost faint, But she didint want to give up, Is she gonna be able to resist this?
As she hides her weakness,She glanced at the mage saying:
“What you just saw was a Shadow ball, Its one of my moves”
“We can talk about it later ok?”
Just as she knew, the general appered. She expected him to appear soon. But why now? She was in a weak state to face him, But Umbreon didnt want to leave Ricken alone either. Warning the Mage she said:
“Ricken the general is right there!”
As Ricken fought, he could tell reinforcements have arrived. He wasn't sure where they came from, but their numbers never seemed to diminish. For a moment, he wasn't sure if the two of them could fend them all off. That was until Umbreon pointed out the Risen Chief. It had been a promoted Warrior.
“If we finish him off, we could stop reinforcements from arriving.”
He knew what must be done. The Mage approached the Warrior, his tome gripped tightly. With a shout, an Elwind released from his fingertips. The Risen seemed to have brushed it off with ease; the boy expected as much.
“Umbreon, back me up!”
Ryan still didn’t leave, moving close enough to poke him in the side with his foot. “Hey, I fucking asked you a question.” He wanted to be certain, suspecting he was playing dead. It’s not like he could actually throw hard enough to kill someone. At least, he didn’t think he could.
Biting back a groan, he remained silent. He only prayed he wouldn’t have to deal with this stranger much longer. The Troubadour longed to return to his nap.
Another day, Another Trainee
“Ngh..Heh..These..Spears are actually a bit lighter than i thought they’d be..Then again i have a smaller spear, so that’s probably it.”
With determination coursing through his body, the goat child took a stance before swinging the spear like a bat. Swing, swipe, slash. He kept swinging in attempt to hit undyne, though he knew of course he never would, which made him feel less afraid of accidentally hurting undyne..
Undyne grinned,
*Well, they’re made of solid energy.
*They’re actually really light!
All the while, she dodged incoming attacks, intersected thrusts, and blocked others. It had been easy enough to counter with full concentration; even if she had been speaking to Asriel like a friend would, she was still fighting (or defending) effectively.
Holding her spear in front of her, the warrior blocked the goat monster’s attack. She thought it may be time to step up her game.
*Alright, you have one more shot at me before I start countering.
*Make it count!
“There’s no need to thank me.”
‘Marth’ gave a confused look, as their lips pursed together.
“He’s a good man, you know.”
“He really is...”
Robin took notice of the other’s look. She couldn’t really know for sure while ‘Marth’ was under the mask, but she could somewhat tell from the mouth position.
“Is something wrong?”
((Hhh sorry for the inactivity from me. I’ve been lurking about @sonofanohrian, @wizard-of-wind, and @vengeful-archer recently. I’ll try to get to some replies tomorrow. Can't guarantee anything, though.))
The superhero was a little confused by the woman’s actions; she was standing out in the open, and looked like she was deep in thought about something. Chat sneered. He would take the chance as soon as he saw it, and would not hesitate to take the woman down.
Chat saw an opportunity and took it. The woman was just there, almost as if she wanted to be pinned down. Nonetheless, he pounced, finding himself on top of her. His sneer grew, as he attempted to call out.
“Cataclysm!”
But nothing happened. Damn, he remembered using it before he was akumatized, and now he was left without his power. His mocking grin turned into a black look towards the woman. She seemed to be more confident than he about this situation, and Chat wasn’t sure why. Maybe she had a plan that he didn’t know about.
Crap – maybe she had a plan he didn’t know about.
Chat took the bait. Everything was going as planned, it seemed. Despite getting pinned to the street with albeit a bit much force, Robin gritted her teeth in a strained smirk (the street had been more solid than she thought). A surge of confidence ran through her. She believed this little idea of hers will work.
She knew she mustn’t get too confident, however. Her plan hadn't been sought through yet, and she was still due to make a mistake. She had forgotten about Cataclysm, but to her relief it seemed the stranger could only use this power once.
While Chat Noir was distracted for that moment, Robin used that time to get her tome ready. Slightly raising her hand up to the baton, she faced away before letting sparks fly. The Elthunder seemed to glow brighter up close. The Tactician had slight difficulty keeping her eyes shut tightly enough.
Ryan waited a minute for him to get back on his feet. And another. When he eventually realized Dwyer was choosing to stay on the ground, he hesitantly approached, wondering if he had knocked him out. He stopped when he was several feet away, calling out, “Hey, are you dead?”
A voice. Finally, he could hear what the stranger sound like. At this point, his brain was in the limbo between consciousness and unconsciousness, but he was still awake to an extent. He remained still, however, believing if this guy thought he was dead, he would finally be left alone.
“Good. I’m glad you have no choice. I’d rather you use all your strength; otherwise the battle isn’t any fun.”
Chat began to charge full force at the woman, him dodging all attempts to hit the super villain. He swung his baton at her, but she kept firing…whatever it was out of her palm. All the blond could do was dodge her attacks with the silver weapon. Chat Noir wasn’t very happy, but he was still determined to beat her. After all, the bad guys have never won, and that would change very quick.
Soon there was a purple butterfly-shaped glow in front of Chat’s face, and he heard a voice, presumably The Papillon’s, in his head. He said something about taking whatever was most valuable to her. Chat Noir had no idea as to what that would be. Maybe the tome she had used earlier to blind The Bubbler?
Since he had used his Cataclysm earlier on, before he was akumatized, it no longer had any charge, and he could no longer use it. And his Miraculous seemed to be frozen, since the toes on the paw-print were no longer flashing and disappearing. This was good, so as to prevent the woman from finding out his secret identity – that is, if she ever beat him.
Robin gradually allowed herself to enter panic mode. Her attacks were not landing their targets; she feared she would run out of uses soon. She hadn't felt the wear in her weapon just yet, but she worried her tome would break eventually. Aside from her Elthunder tome, she had nothing.
The Tactician needed to think of a fool-proof plan; but what? What was she to do in this dire situation? She needed to corner him, but how? She took a long look at the twirling baton. It was made of metal.
Gazing at her tome, she began to have doubts. Will it work? It was risky, but she had no choice. She stood her ground, waiting for Chat to pin her down.
@muses-for-foxes
“And what do you want?”
“I just wanted to thank you for saving Chrom. I feel bad I wasn’t there earlier.”
Robin’s voice trailed off. She nearly lost the life of the Exalted Prince. She knew she would have to come up with flawless tactics to keep everyone safe.
Another day, Another Trainee
“Uh..”
Asriel looked down at the spear in his paws, it was quite heavy regardless of how small it looked. He felt nervous. Even if this was a spar, Asriel wasn’t entirely ready for this! With a small gulp, he toughened up and brought the spear close as he put a determined expression.
“R-Ready!”
With that signal, the goat tried thrusting forward with the weapon. The way he did so was very sloppy, it’d probably make undyne upset or disappointed.
Not wanting to take an offensive stance just yet, Undyne raised her dull spear. Intersecting Asriel’s attack, she grinned at his attempt. Sure, the thrust was very sloppy, but she expected that. It wasn’t like Asriel has ever wielded a weapon prior to this sparring match.
Without a counterattack, the fish monster gave the child a determined glare. She was going easy, sure, but she always gave it her all as well.
*Not bad, Asriel!
*Try finding an opening, then come at me again!
