Hello hello!! Iām making this as a small little intro post/blog guide because even though im pretty much a chronic reposter i do post the occasional original thing and i enjoy chatting with folks/meeting new people so iām hoping some categorization may help me make some mutuals? Shrug

I enjoy writing the occasional fanfiction, listening to new music, writing and producing music, sewing, and historical counterculture and protest!

Donāt assume itās because of beef or hatred, I block pretty freely over anything from hateful content to someoneās account just appearing way too much on my dash despite me not being that attached to their content. Some folks I block because they write or draw stuff that I personally donāt like seeing, that doesnāt mean I hate them or think theyāre evil or suck. Fiction as a tool to explore complex emotions and concepts is important and I do not believe in censorship being a good tool, I also recognize that even if someone writes fiction abt a concept and doesnāt believe in it IRL there is still often internal bias. Do not bring ship wars or hate campaigns to me and my blog, if Iām uncomfortable with something I will take steps to remove myself from it but online hate campaigns donāt do jack shit. Really any story about experiencing a form of discrimination I canāt relate to, Iām always happy to write about diverse casts of characters but I am a white trans guy and am not qualified to tell a story about the complex personal experiences of stuff like internalized racism because Iāve never experienced race based discrimination.
I may reject any request I donāt feel comfortable or qualified to write, it isnāt always personal or even about a moral stigma on what is/isnāt okay to write about. Iām not a professional or career writer, just a guy who likes to occasionally scream about his favorite characters.

i do think what gets ignored about carrie as a character is that sheās an incredibly easy target to bully; sheās a chubby, sheltered acne ridden teenage girl who wears frumpy grandma clothes and regurgitates the jesus freak shit her violently abusive mother tells her. she has violent thoughts about her classmates and is uncomfortable to be around. sheās far more interesting being a victim thatās somewhat uncomfortable to be in the head of than a tragic waif. sheās not a martyr, sheās a child and a child whoās been victimised her whole life shouldnāt have to be kind and angelic to be recognised as a victim. suffering teenage girls shouldnāt just be presented on screen as toned down glamorous thin ophelias, suffering teenage girls can be fat and poor and think violently. i do think we need to examine why culturally we need teenage girls to be beautiful and kind to valorise their suffering and treat it as bad
This is even more ironic knowing that Theodore Herzl was inspired by the Scramble for Africa and even proposed to Secretary of State for the colonies, Joseph Chamberlain, to colonize Cyprus or the Sinai Peninsula. I don't know who needs to hear this but you need to stop dehumanising people even if those people are "abusers" or "creeps" because you need to understand that you are not immune to doing something equally as bad
Abusers and creeps are not some species of especially heinous animal or alien or monster wearing the face of a human. They're people. And you NEED to drill it into your head that they are people because you NEED to remember that people are capable of doingn heinous shit. And you are a person. And your loved ones are people.
By emotionally classifying people who have done heinous things as subhuman filth incapable of thinking and feeling and acting just like you and me, and by using that emotional dehumanization as a reason to deny those people any compassion or support on a systemic level, you risk becoming blind to abuse/violence perpetrated by someone close to you or even yourself. Because if "abusers don't deserve rights", then you won't ever want to admit or accept that you or a loved one is perpetrating abuse, and that makes stopping the abuse or preventing further abuse much harder. This is how you end up excuaing abusive behaviour on the grounds that, since you don't see someone as a disgusting subhuman pile of garbage therefore they can't possibly be An Abuser, Trademark
And here'a the even harder pill to swallow: since the world isn't split into "abusers" and "good people", in the same way you or someone you love can inflict abuse/violence on others, the people who HAVE inflicted abuse/violence on others can, in fact, change and become better people
There is no bottomless chasm of moral uncleanliness that someone can run off and fall into and get stuck in forever. People can do better. Yes, even those people. You HAVE to accept this. Otherwise not only is there no motivation for anyone to try and do better (which is when people become stuck in a cycle of violence and abuse they don't want to escape), but your idea of a perfect justice system doesn't look any different from Literal Christian Hell. And I HOPE you understand that Literal Christian Hell is, to put it very lightly, not a good justice system.
