MASS EFFECT 3: LEGENDARY EDITION
DONâT FUCK WITH OMEGA.
I feel like some people tend to treat nonhuman alters as a fun little quirky thing but itâs actually terrifying sometimes. Especially because a lot of the time the reason they perceive themselves as nonhuman is such a core part of their trauma.
Absolutely agreed - but I also wanna add that itâs absolutely valid to see joy in who you are, regardless of your traumatic origins.
Numb is a demonic protector. He had a lot of troubles a few years back because he was a âmonsterâ (to some degrees, he still struggles with it). He saw himself as evil, even felt shame because he was a demon.
Now, he mostly just laughs at the jokes that he purrs when he gets chin scritches and feels good when he gets back rubs on his janky ass spine. He loves who he is, loves his weird fun quirks, because theyâre him.
So yes, while it is terrifying, itâs important to find solace in who you are, trauma and all. I donât think OP was saying thatâs not a good thing, but moreso âthese are two things that need to be acknowledged together,â which I absolutely agree with.
Oh, absolutely! Iâm definitely not saying you should be ashamed of it at all, this post came off the backend of a huge wobble we had where a very traumatized alter of ours went into very, very dark place mentally yesterday related to his specific trauma, which also linked to that heâs a fallen angel inside.
Being a nonhuman alter is not a bad thing! My point was that people look at nonhuman alters and sort of goâŠ. âTeehee, thatâs so bizarre/cute/weird/funky!â which it is! Sometimes! But thereâs also a reason for those alters to be the way they are, and that, in most cases, is the trauma from which they came.
Tl;dr: Infantalizing alters because they present as nonhuman isnât a great thing đ„Č sorry for the essay!
Anyway on this blog we respect âunconventionalâ pronouns because theyâre literally not hurting anyone and they make people comfortable in their identity

I have got your back. Here are those damn sources
There is not enough difference in male or female brains to tell them apart
A gender-neutral pronouns other that they/them has existed since 1858, thonÂ
There are more than 2 genders (tons of sources in the description that if i tried to write them all here i would die of age)
âââTranstrendersâââ arenât actually transitioning and then regretting:Â 1Â Â 2Â Â 3Â 4Â Â 5Â
Biological binary sex isnât a thing:Â 1Â 2 3Â 4
in the wikipedia page for social construct of gender category sex and sex category the sources are 7 27 28Â
He indeed is
Being trans is not a mental illness/ you donât need dysphoria to be trans: 1 2  3  4 5 6 7 (this one is massive) 8 (also if you want a living example of a cis person with dysphoria search godflex here on tumblr, careful itâs nsfw)
From here
This might be updated in the future
fantastic
Simply because the link about the gender neutral pronoun âthonâ leads to a google books page (gross) in Portuguese, it may not prove particularly useful for English speakers. Instead, hereâs a link to a Merriam-Webster post about it. While they donât have links to their sources, they do include all the titles to the publications referenced, most of which are surely public domain.
'Thon' was a singular, gender-neutral pronoun in our Unabridged dictionary. Until it wasn't.
In addition, if âthonâ (or âĂŸon,â for any literary nerds) doesnât suit you, here is a list of proposed gender neutral pronouns regardless of whether or not they have seen usage.
It even has usage notes! Please DM me if the links donât work.

Hey there! A long time ago I asked an anon question about gender identity confusion stuff and I just wanted to say thank you for your answer to it. You were so kind and understanding, I actually bookmarked the ask and come back to it now and then. It's been years. But you really helped me feel more comfortable to explore at my own pace who I was and what my gender meant to me. So thank you for being kind and supportive. :)
đđđ I am so glad I was able to help. May you find all kinds of happiness and gender euphoria on your journey.

Tweet transcript:
White people - when you ask POC questions, I wish youâd ask less âis it ok if I [do a certain thing]?â and more âwhat are your thoughts on [certain thing]?â
The first makes me uncomfortable bc youâre demanding a clear Yes/No that no single POC has the right to give.
It puts the burden on ME to repeat for the countless time that we are not a monolith and others may feel differently before giving my opinion and even then, I worry that you might take my answer and run with it bc Iâm not sure youâre conceptualising our individual diversity.
But if you ask âwhat are YOUR thoughts?â instead, it shows me youâre aware that youâre getting the opinion of a single person and youâre not expecting me to speak for a whole group of people. Only then do I feel safe giving my thoughts.
Ultimately, you need to focus on listening respectfully and seeking out perspectives from a variety of POC instead of trying to get a magic Permission Pass on whether you can do [certain thing]. I mean, the final judgement on whether to act is YOURS to make.
ALSO it is very transparent when youâre more concerned about Not Getting Cancelled than listening to POC our of respect... like seriously can stop acting like weâre coercing you or making your life difficult just because we have opinions đ©
