I was formerly @muun-has-moved, unfortunately it was a sideblog to my personal account, therefore I could do barely anything with it (I had no clue what a side blod was when I made it)
I'm a small artist trying to finally enjoy having a personal space to express what I love, here you'll find stuff relating to multiple fandoms (MLP, tadc, nbc hannibal, iwtv), there's plenty of stuff i wanna share!
Enjoy my blog✨
Overall, Frankie actually behaves as an earth pony. They do have wings and a horn but being made of spare parts they don’t actually work. Their horn is made of metal (and so is one of her hooves), it can’t produce magic but it can produce sparks and conduct electricity (being one of Frankie’s “powers” in the show). I thought this could keep an aspect of disability to their character while also maintaining the g1 design.
Someone talk to me about TVL episode 6 cause the conjuring scene was PERFECT and Delainey Hayles deserves and award and i NEED to dissect every bit of it once we finally actually got to see what Claudia is really like.
I submit to you my ASOIAF fashion headcanons, using my OCs. I’m a costume history students and ASOIAF it’s extremely fun to imagine and theorise about
I have a personal headcanon where Westerosi fashion is extremely different by region and takes inspiration by various places and historical periods
Again this is my PERSONAL headcanon, of course if you are interested to genuinely discuss I’m all in, please don’t be rude.
So here:
Everything under the cut!!!!!
Tyrells and Lannisters: most of the south, mainly Westerlands, Crownlands and reach is inspired by Italian later - renaissance fashion, specifically between 1510s and 1540 I took a lot of inspiration from Agnolo Bronzino’s paintings and added a more fantasy-touch by going very heavy handed on cuts and ornaments, damasks. Same for Lannisters, this character is actually a Lannister married to a Lannister of Lannisport, I had a lot of fun with the cloning tool and used it for the skirt’s patterns and alternated a lion print to knots to which I want to add anchors! Here the fantasy is all in the exaggeration and the heavy brocades. This is VERY 16th century Italy, featuring a lovely balzo that sports a pearl, pearls are very present to remind of Lannisport’s sea.
When it came to houses inspired by later historical periods (later than the 1400s) I still wanted to feature the gorgeous and vibrant colors that belong to the medieval times, especially for heraldry sake.
A sketch for a character of house
Blackwood! To me the riverlands speak of flanders, Germany, Netherlands, specifically later 1400s in forms. That is mostly so I can give Catelyn Tully a hennin, absolutely yes! Here you have a gorgeous quilted doublet with faux sleeves featuring a black and white vertical quilted pattern on one’s side and a checkered red and black one on the other! Fur on every hem.
North: well, that would be actually a longer longer discourse but I’ll be short and sweet to only talk about this singular character. Unfortunately for me, I struggle to find sources in languages I speak in regards to non European centric fashion (if anyone has any sources about historical Easter European and Eurasian fashion, please let me know) so I kind of have to work with what I can find. This one specific character is albino and actually lives at the Wall and is part of the nightwatch, along with winterfell I imagine them to have a mix of Slavic and Mongolian fashion, mostly focused on keeping them warm through heavy furs and thick leathers. Being night watch is a very plain outfit, hence why I’ll put more details in a future stark/bolton art.
Under the video where Bryan Cranston defends Skylar White (I never watched breaking bad) I said my personal litmus test is Sansa Stark. And it’s true, I will JUDGE YOU based off what you think of Sansa, Daenerys and honestly, most ASOIAF women.
Many people agreed with me!
One wanted to let me know that, according to them, Sansa was “hate worthy” at the beginning and then she grew and she herself mentioned that she was in the wrong.
First off, never come to me quoting anything from season 6 and after. Second thing.
Sansa is HATE WORTHY? Genuinely, how?
Is she slightly annoying in the first book? Yes, like many 12 year olds, is she a little mean to Arya? Basic sibling dynamic, my brothers make fun of me all the time, it might be annoying but HATE WORTHY?
Mind you, in the first 2 episodes Sansa is annoying and Joffrey gets a random child killed for being there while he got bitten, Jaime, who’s my fav character yes, pushes a CHILD off a tower and if we wanna quote stupid petty shit behaviour Theon is present, which, considering s1-2 Theon, is enough already but the 12 year old who wants to be a princess and live happily ever after is HATE WORTHY. And then you quote the SHOW.
The same show where they add SA scenes where there never were and where they justify Sansa’s SA and trauma with “oh it made me stronger” and completely changed multiple characters’ story arc (Tyrion) because the show runners couldn’t accept the fact that they’re favourite becomes actually HATE WORTHY. The same show where violence is rewarded whereas in the books it’s underlined that violence only generates more violence and the fact that Sansa has to adapt herself to people like Cersei, Joffrey or Little Finger to survive is necessary, yes, but not good.
This is another reminder that the worst thing a woman could do, is being mean.
I’ve been in a huge art block, so other than doodling and sketching I can’t do much yet and I sort of suck at drawing men but it’s good training.
With Addam, I wanted to rely more on the show, tbh I liked the decision to make the Velaryons black as the shows tend to lack POC characters. However I really didn’t like the execution, it simply made Rhaenyra, Viserys and Laenor look really stupid, I understand the choice to canonise certain aspects of the book but I honestly think this was executed rather poorly. Maybe tomorrow I’ll make another version of Addam more book-adjacent, for now I leaned heavily on the show but wanted to tweak those few features I really headcanon for valyrians, as I like to imagine them with really thin almond-like eyes. Maybe they could even be purple.
Cause here I am on my art blog where I (mainly) post ponies with this long ass essay I’ve had in mind for months about the way JKR and GRRM treat women and motherhood
