It was just after midnight as Marnie walked down the streets, bundled up in a parka as she watched her breath collect in billows of white in front of her, the temperature dropping quickly. It was definitely too cold to be taking a midnight stroll, but she had to get out of her apartment, she couldn’t take the screaming babies next door any longer. Her feet automatically took a left coming up on the playground, making her way over to one of the swings and taking a seat, gently rocking as her eyes surveyed around her, fingers slipping into the pocket of her coat and pulling out a small joint, her lighter coming next. It was difficult to do with mittens on, but she managed to get it lit, taking in a long hit and holding it, choking on the exhale when she looked up and realized she wasn’t alone. “Fuck-” she coughed, attempting to wave the smoke away. “Uh, do you uh, you want a hit?”
