Actually I want to share something more personal about this piece. In 2023 when my landscape drawing teacher proposed the final work to be a 2 metters panoramic drawing, he specifically said that he wanted us to draw something that were important in a personal level to us. Because in art school we have this thing called "poetic" which is basically the artist's own voice speaking through their production (which was always hard for me to understand), and we have to excercize how to bring them out from abstract concepts. The said teacher suggested us to start on the place we have grown, or our connection to the place we currently live. And to me it was a puzzle, because I have grown moving from state to state my whole life (parents job etc) and I always felt disconected from everywhere we settled. It always felt like I belong nowhere - no familiar neighborhood, or people who ive seen grown old. Every few years, new streets and places and faces. Plus, for many reasons, I was confined to my room most of the time. So I decided to go with Stormwind, because it was a place in the game me and my brother spent so many hours of our childhood scaping from the life hurricane. I usually joke that I know Stormwind better than any city i had lived, haha. I brought the idea to the teacher and he said something like "Ok you convinced me, go on :)" (usually anything refering to pop/nerd culture is not seen with good eyes in art acamedy, and i can see the point of it tbh) And until nowdays it is still one of my coolest drawings, and the one of those I most love. I literally cant talk about it without weeping a little, haha. Those silloutes in the foreground are me and my brother's most played characters, which were both human monks :)
