I do know jpn artists hate reposting their stuff, meaning stuff they made, like artwork, videos etc. This is a photo of an art gallery, you know a public one, and the profiles of the bandai page are also public, so the point is moot in this case.

"how dare this person get rubbed the wrong way when people start claiming that he's lying and misinforming people?" and the thing is, if i hadn't been given a heads-up, i wouldn't have even learned that the post was getting reblogged again to say "this guy's lying btw". because yes, even if that's not what's said out loud, that's what's being said in between lines, especially as the first reblogs didn't even bother doing a check because they couldn't even find the sourced text before claiming that "two sources are missing". that's the same thing as saying i had just made it up
there were no missing sources, i was not being "dude trust me" like one of the replies here says or some of the reblogs earlier said: i posted both the original text, the translation under, and the sources of everything. the four ones. i took the time to transcript and translate as literally as possible (because that's another thing: if you don't translate literally even if that means it sounds awkward in english, because japanese does not have the same structure, then people also jump to the conclusion that you're lying), and there is really nothing else i can add to that: if people don't want to hear it, then that's alright. whatever. that's exactly why i was not going to post properly on the matter because when people don't want to listen it's useless... but it is literally what it says. i don't even have actual stakes on this because i am not a shipper, i have been open in the past about how "accidental aromantic/asexual" was my reading of vash even before i knew what these words existed when i first got into trigun, and i already said in the tags i'm repulsed by mother/son incest. but i would bet my whole arm if the post actually said certain ship(s) was canon instead, people would have accepted it without any kind of "factual check". there are precedents in this same fandom of said type of posts getting hundreds and thousands of notes, where corrections of what was a bad machine translation didn't even get 1/3 of the attention. but, because it said something people did not want to hear (and @sword-dad-fukuzawa was right, and people really were not ready to unpack it), then that meant... yeah, all what i already said
you and the other person were right in calling rem a "lost lenore", because that's what the intention is behind. but the fact that you need to make this type of post all about my reaction to being accused of lying, rather than anything else like addressing that maybe i was not making it up, proves that no one had an actual argument in the first place beyond "i don't like this so it's not true"
恋人 is pretty much unambiguous, and even though there's often a juxtaposition of love interest with heroine in japanese media, and particularly in shounen manga, this is very much not the case for trigun, a manga which was a seinen for most of its life and where rem also doesn't have enough of a spotlight as a dead character to truly be considered one. you can have a heroine without the connotations of a love interest, and sometimes there's both a heroine and a love interest separately. i talk about works like those periodically in this blog, as some of my favorite videogames, but then she wouldn't be denominated something like 恋人. you don't use this type of word that lightly, and the same goes for a wording like 永遠の女性. this is not an accident. vash putting rem into a pedestal and idealizing her to the extent he's projecting into her the image of "the eternal woman", to the point plenty of readers/watchers were surprised at the adoptive mother reveal, isn't even the only projecting going on in the manga, and role confusion due to trauma or what-have-you paired with pseudo-incest are not even just a trigun only thing
