The avidity in which her bright violet eyes gazed upon Kakashi stirred his chest. In what world do I deserve to have this beautiful woman look at me in this way, he wondered. He was genuinely perplexed but captivated by her all the same. He gently grazed the back of his fingers across her supple cheek as if she was the most fragile and forbidden masterpiece he’d ever touched. He felt anxious and certain he should pull away quickly but she leaned into his hand. His stomach felt absent of gravity. He nearly felt overcome with disbelief as he continued to stroke her face with his thumb. A warm yearning began to smolder in his eyes as he stared back at her in awe. She welcomed his intensity wholly. It felt as if the vastness of the universe herself was trying to embrace him. 

 “Yumena.” 

He said her name so softly that she quietly hummed back in response. 

“Don't look at me like that.” He nearly whispered. 

“No.” She said defiantly. She firmly grasped his hand and lightly pressed her lips against his bare fingers. Another intoxicating wave of zero-g washed over his body as he sat helplessly beside her. Her thumb brushed beneath his calloused fingers to open his palm toward her and she returned his warm hand to her cheek. She held his hand there as she searched his eyes for answers she already knew. She gave his hand a gentle squeeze before she spoke again.

“I don’t expect you to be ready to return my feelings, Hatake Kakashi, but I have seen you in your entirety and I love you. I love you completely. I wholeheartedly accept you as you are and I have every intention of being utterly consumed by only you. So please, don’t pull away from me again. Even if you can’t put into words how you feel yet, don’t deny me or push me away. Whatever you give me, I will take it graciously. But please… let me love you as freely as I want. You really do deserve it.”

So I officially finished all 5 seasons of The Handmaid's Tale and I just want to say that I love that Nick told June he loved her twice with out her responding to it. then June told Nick twice that she loved him without him responding to it. And then finally in season 5 they both say it to each other and I just.... I am rooting for them so hard.
