Suzanne Collins did the best possible thing by making BOSAS in the third person and itâs for plot reasons.
SOTR and the original trilogy were in the first person pov and I feel that fits well. Katniss, whoâs overguarded yet lets people in any way. We donât know everything sure but we know her love for the people she cares about because she thinks sheâs really great at letting us know nothing but sheâs not. And Mister Haymitch âover-sharerâ Abernathy over here I donât need to explain. But BOSAS? We get glimpses into Snowâs mind but mfer is CONSTANTLY calculating and planning to the point his own brain most of the time wonât even register his own feelings. Not the main point.
If BOSAS was in the first person, it wouldâve likely been Lucy Grayâs and I think that wouldâve thrown her whole thing out. Sheâs supposed to be a mystery, to be hidden, and she is. We know almost nothing about her because Snow knows almost nothing about her because itâs through two filters that we get any information on her. I think itâs why so many people are captivated by the idea of a faceless Lucy Gray. It feels right. Sheâs the mystery girl.
