Here you see zebrafish eggs under a microscope. Zebrafish is a model organism and used for cancer, developmental disorders, sex determination, stem cell biology, oxidative stress, behaviour, epigenetics (study of heritable changes in gene expression or cellular phenotype caused by mechanisms other than changes in the underlying DNA sequence) and evolution research. Fertilized eggs can be distinguished from non fertilized eggs by using a binocular (a microscope, but less magnification).Ā
