Training 5/1
A) work up to heavy front squat (aka max out) baaahaha warm up/bar stretch 85#/105#/125#/145#/165#(PR)/180#-fail I got a little too excited with how easy 165 felt so I went on with 180 and I made it halfway up before I basically collapsed forward lol. Oh well, it was still a good try & now I have a new goal. At 112# pounds, I’ll take it.
B) work up to heavy clean & jerk 85#/105#/125#/145#/150#(clean PR) .. failed jerk twice :( GAHHHH this makes me so mad. Well, kinda. So I was able to match my current 1RM at 145, after maxing out on front squats so that’s pretty cool. And then I was able to clean 150# twice, which I was honestly very surprised at. My first jerk dip was questionable- too far forward. But then I set up for it a second time and my dip was perfect, super upright, but I couldn’t get my head through fast enough. I also think it’s a confidence thing, because I’ve hit 145 overhead numerous times.. I should be able to hit 150.
C) “Elizabeth” for time: 21-15-9 cleans 135/95 ring dips
RX - 6:36
This was actually my first time doing Elizabeth, so I’m not sure if that’s a good score or not. I mean, comparatively (lol) because I’m sure the elite athletes do it in like sub 2:00.
Anyway, overall I felt really confident in working up to heavy lifts & it seems like I’m eating enough to fuel my workouts so that’s good. I’m gonna leave my macros where they are at bc I’m satisfied.
