About Me :)

I’m MyOwnMeadow, or just Meadow for short. I also have an Ao3 account under the same name. As of writing this, I really only have one fic that I’m working on, which is my very own linksmeet! It’s currently on hiatus so I can get a bit of a backlog built up, though.

And that’s it for now! I currently talk a fair amount about LoZ things, but I finally got around to finishing the Dungeon Meshi manga and oh boy do I LOVE it. I’m currently thinking of a crossover where Hyrule is a continent that’s one massive dungeon in the world of Dungeon Meshi, expect some posts about that in the near future. :) [Edit: this didn’t happen but I will circle back to this… hmmm… ideas, ideas…]

Edit as of 2026: My little sister finally got me to watch Bungou Stray Dogs and it’s officially my second favorite TV show of all time, right after Dungeon Meshi. And Ranpo is my favorite character of all time currently and is unlikely to ever leave my top five for the rest of my life.

I started writing a second fic centered around Ranpo that I fear that I’ll probably only work on between the hours of 3 and 6 AM for some reason involving genius derangement happens between those hours, so that’ll probably be even slower updating than my Linksmeet overall but I shall not abandon it.

I’m definitely gonna limit myself to one active fic per fandom though. So that way I’ll actually 1) Have something to write when in a different phase, and 2) Will likely actually finish some longfics within my lifetime. It’s probably going to take a good third of my life for A Marching Chain but that’s mostly because of how much I have planned for that. Like. Nothing else even comes CLOSE to the amount of notes and ideas and freaking number of main characters that I have for that series. It’s insane. For me that is, as someone who is glacially slow at writing and sometimes seems allergic to notes until I start taking them, that is.

This is legitimately useful reframing. A while ago I started replacing the word "cop" in my vocabulary with "a man with a gun." It really puts things into perspective.

This homeless person is making me uncomfortable. Should I call [a man with a gun]?

My neighbor is having a loud party. Should I get [a man with a gun] involved?

There are some teenagers skateboarding. Do you think [a man with a gun] would get rid of them for me?

It makes it very clear what you're saying. I can call a man with a gun to threaten or hurt someone mildly inconveniencing me. You're not calling the cops, you're calling A MAN WITH A GUN into a situation that does not warrant a firearm handled by a volatile lunatic who will not be held accountable for his actions.

whenever souheki argue they make it everyone's problem. ranpo's all irritated and makes it a point to take on a lot of random cases just so he can have every agency member except dazai escort him to the scene of crime. dazai outright doesn't show up to work (not unusual) or tries to coerce atsushi or yosano or kunikida to talk to ranpo for him

so atsushi ends up tiredly going to ranpo like "dazai-san said he's sorry he ate your snacks," and ranpo says he doesn't care so he goes back to dazai and tells him "ranpo-san said he doesn't care," and dazai urges him to try again so he goes back and says, "dazai-san says he's super sorry and he probably won't do it again," and ranpo says, "i still don't care, and get out of our business. and buy me some snacks." and atsushi relays this information to dazai and dazai sends him back with snacks that atsushi bought

They absolutely are the type of people to do this LOL. It’s extra funny when you consider that it’s just Dazai who’s actively involving other people, while Ranpo is like “not your business.” But also he’s Ranpo and his mood affects everyone else.

I imagine Atsushi eventually getting sick of their poor conflict resolution skills and just starts lying about what the other said to get Dazai to do his work and to get Ranpo to be a little less grumpy. The two do notice this eventually, but I can imagine them actually getting tricked the first time lol. (Dazai not expecting it and Ranpo actively trying not to think about their argument and therefore not deducing anything) It turns into a game where they try using reverse psychology to get Atsushi to say what they actually want communicated.

And Atsushi keeps falling for it. XD

Every other agency member either refuses to go along with it or says they will and never do. It’s only Atsushi that Dazai can convince to speak for him, though when that eventually stops working, he gets Aku to instead. He once tries to reverse-psychology Chuuya to talk to Ranpo for him.
