As you slowly stirred out off sleep and regained some what of consciousness, you already dreaded the day that would start as soon as you woke up entirely. Your head pounded and you had not an ounce of motivation in your tired limbs. You were about to consider simply falling back to sleep when your ears called attention to the chirping birds outside of your bedroom window, that made it impossible for you to fall back into the sweet dreams you were hoping for. You sighed and cursed under your breath, hoping they would just shut up already. When you slowly opened your eyes, you regretted it immediately and quickly turned away from the window, trying to escape the blinding sun beams that intruded your room nonchalantly.
You didn’t understand where this sudden wave of deep melancholy had emerged from. Yesterday had been an actual pleasant day.

The sunlight beaming through the window stirred Sasha from her slumber. She hadn't slept this well in she couldn't remember how long. She rolled over to find the other side of the bed cold and empty. Her mind traveled back to the previous night. Had she truly fallen for a wizard, No she corrected herself he said Sorcerer. She figured, unhappily that Stephen had gone to protect reality. Stretching and looking around she pulled herself from the large comfy bed. She noticed on the dresser there was a pile of clothes and a note
Sasha,
I'm sorry I had to go protect the Sanctum. I had hoped to be back before you woke up. For that I'm sorry. But please take a shower if you wish, use what you need, and these clothes should fit you. Wong should be down on the main level, if you need anything let him know. I hope you can stick around until I get back, it was pure agony to have to leave you in the middle of the night, I would still like to take you home.
Stephen
Looking over the clothes and they seemed comfy, there was a pair of loose pants and long sleeved tunic. After taking a long hot shower she changed and left the security of his room. Walking down the hall she called out to Wong.
"I'm in the kitchen come on down, I'm sure you have questions."
She walked down the grand staircase and into the kitchen. Wong was cooking and offered a drink. "I'll take a cup of tea, if you have it." Sasha smiled.
Handing her the steaming cup she sipped on it for a few minutes, "Wong, can you tell me where he is?"
"Right now not really, probably in the mirror dimension as it doesn't effect our reality..."
"Wong!" The scream came from the upper floors. "Can you get up here right now?"
"Come on, he sounds hurt. Maybe seeing you will help." Wong grabbed her hand and led Sasha through the Sanctum to where the portal was just closing. Stephen was on the floor on all fours, breathing heavy. He saw two sets of feet and looked up. Her eyes widened when she saw his face and arms were cut and bleeding. His eyes wide not wanting to scare her, "I... I'm fine just a little banged up." He tried to assure her.
"Hun, that seems more than a little, don't cha think? Do you need help?" She reached down not waiting to hear his answer and helped him up with her arm around his back and his arm around her shoulder. "Tell me where to go." He directed her back to his room, where she helped him on the bed.
Wong appeared with alcohol and bandages. "I'll leave these here, let me know if you need anything else. And by the way he is a horrible patient." Giggling he left the room closing the door behind him.
Stephen began undoing his belt and let it fall open on the bed. As she began helping remove the long vest and tunic he grabbed her hand. "Trust me it looks worse than it is." His blue green eyes plead with her to believe him.
"Ok, can you sit up or do you need help?" Sasha asked as she peeled the damp bloody fabric from his skin. A gasp left her mouth "are you sure about that?"
"Yep. Here let me help clean out the wounds..."
Smacking his hands away she said. "No you let me do this you pain in the ass."
"But.. come on Angel let me do something..."
"Darling, please let me take care of you, you take care of the rest of us and no one knows."
Rolling his eyes Stephen relented to allowing her to tend to him. He would not admit it out loud but he really enjoyed her taking care of him. The gentile way she dabbed at the wounds and the care she took in bandaging him. He also would try not to think how perfect he thought she was at that moment. He didn’t think his heart could take it if he kept falling for her so fast. He would try to avoid falling in love at first date. He knew in his heart that it would be inevitable. A slight smile formed on his lips as he watched her tend to him. Checking in with Gina she told her that she would be stopping by later with Dr Hottie to grab stuff she needed for work in the morning. She knew regardless of what he said Stephen was in pain and needed some rest. She laid with him soothing him by running her fingers through his hair. His head nestled to her chest. And his arms around her waist. Soon enough she heard his breathing soften and even out. It was hard enough to leave the bed, but she still wanted to talk to Wong. Softly closing the door she walked to the kitchen again looking for Wong. Not finding him there Sasha called out to him.
"In the library" he called out. Walking in she could not believe the extensive collection of ancient books. Wong was seated at a table hidden behind a stack of books. "How's the worlds worst patient?"
"Sleeping"
"How did you do that?"
"Magic"
"Not funny, so we never got to your questions earlier.. is that why you're here and not with him?" She nodded "so ask away."
"How long have yous been doing this?"
"Well people like me and Stephen have been guarding the sanctums for centuries here in New York."
"Why have I never heard of you guys?"
"We like to be kept secret."
"You're just a wealth of information aren't ya Wong?" She dead panned.
"Yep. Anything else?"
"Are you just going to keep giving me the same wildly vague answers?"
"Uh-huh"
"Then No if you need me I'll be resting with Stephen." She said rolling her eyes and getting up. She walked back to Stephen's room and smiled when she saw him still soundly asleep. She snuggled back into his embrace and admired his fit body. A short while later he began to wake. Opening his eyes slowly he felt the weight of her in his arms, and tried to suppress a smile.
"You didn't have to wait here, you know." His voice deep and raspy with sleep.
"I know I just wanted to be close to you. You have this sense of peace about you when you sleep, regardless of how beat up you are."
"Thanks, I can't remember the last time I slept this good first last night and just now, normally I have nightmares, sadly I've seen and dealt with some scary things since becoming Sorcerer Supreme. And I have you to thank for it."
He leaned over for a kiss. "But, seeing as you don't want me messing with my wounds can you check them and we may need to change out the bandages."
Sasha happily set to work, when she was done reluctantly she helped him put on a pair of jeans and a v-neck t-shirt, he was still insistent that he would drive her to get her things. Arriving at her apartment she helped him up the stairs just before unlocking the door he put a spell on himself to mask the injuries. As she opened the door and entered holding his hand behind her Gina rushed over.
"Oooo, are you Doctor Hottie? Because DA-Hmn!"
"Stephen please meet my very subtle roommate Gina. Gina this is Doctor Stephen Strange."
"Very pleased to meet you." Gina said extending her had to him.
"Likewise." Stephen said.
"Look I'm gonna grab my things, Gina be good." Sasha laughed. They sat in the living room and chatted while she grabbed her things quickly, not wanting to leave Stephen to Gina for too long.
She gathered a few days of essentials and stuffed it into a backpack. Saying good night to Gina as she pulled Stephen out of the apartment and back down to his car.
"You know if you forgot anything I can make you a portal to grab it." He said smiling at her.
"Thanks but then Gina's gonna think the place is haunted, although....." she just giggled. "Stephen are you sure you want me to spend so much time at your place? I mean this" indicating both of them “is still new."
"I'm positive, besides I've never had such good after care as what you did earlier, heck you even got me to take a fucking nap... I don't do naps." He kept glancing at her while driving.
"So how am I getting to work in the morning?"
"Oh I'm driving you, I'll drop you off and pick you up. If that's ok?"
"You are awesome" she said as he pulled into the garage, grabbed her bag and opened her door.
"Wong, don't bother me unless it's planet threatening." Stephen called out as they walked to his room.
"Oh, hey, is this going to be a thing now?"
"Yes and no, just part of the week. And maybe most weekends." He leaned down and kissed her deeply.

Loki learned fast how to care for Matthias. From changing him to bathing him. He did everything in his power to give his wife time to recover, from as Eva put it delivering a watermelon. Matthias was 14 lbs 3 oz and 30" long. After getting home from the hospital and settling their son into his routine Loki spent hours with his son, often taking him for walks in the stroller, after the first time he made sure that Eva was with him, he was stopped by at least ten women cooing at how cute the little boy was and how much he looked like his father. At least five of them pressed their phone number into his hand. Eva especially liked watching as Loki prepared him for bed, there was bath time, and story time. Loki told his son altered versions of his Asgardian fairy tails where the Jotun were not monsters. Occasionally Eva heard him singing Asgardian lullabies. Loki would listen as Eva did the same sharing her fairy tales and lullabies. Matthias would only know love from his family and extended family. Loki's patience with his son was astounding. After the birth Loki put a glamour on him that also changed his temperature jus like his daddy. They preferred at home for both boys to be Jotun. An unexpected side affect of the birth was Eva's skin was left with the pale blue hue. So she even had a glamour when they went out as well.
Stephen stopped by at least once every few days to check on both of them. The little boy while enamored with his dad, loved his uncles, he was constantly giggling when they came over. Thor was a fun uncle, Stephen was nurturing and Tony spoiled him rotten. He also stole his aunts hearts when they held him. He loved Peppers nurture, Nat's fearlessness, or the fun aunt, and Wanda's magic and protectiveness. Eva thought it fitting that her son and Stephen shared the same birthday November 18. Loki was proud to announce that Odin has accepted Matthias as his grandson, and as such after his first birthday they would go to Asgard for his coronation. Fury had personal child care installed at the tower and the compound, for when Eva and Loki were back.
"Loki, how many children did you say you wanted?" Asked Eva one night when Matthias was two.
"If I remember correctly it was 3, but two would be best."
"You ready for me to curse you out again if we do?"
"I'll be there for you through it all. Eva, if we don't have any more children I will still die a happy man. I have the love of my life, and the most precious little boy..."
"He looks so much like you. I can't wait till he's older and you can start teaching him magic. I've already spoken to Charles Xavier, and he's putting together a plan for Matthias' education beyond what we will teach him. I have such hope for his future."
"Why, Princess, did you ask about children again?"
"Because I just saw Dr Mooney a week ago, and we'll..."
Loki picked her up in a flash peppering kisses along her face and neck "so I'm going to be a dad again?"
"Yes my Prince you will be a dad again, but you get to tell Fury this time!" She laughed as he spun her around. "He's not going to be happy, I may just get used to desk duty, I'm going to be stuck there again."
"Eva, I'm so lucky to have found you, I never want to think what our life would have been like without one little injury, and one bold move."
"Loki our little family is growing, and I'm so excited to be a part of it! I love you Always my Sweet, Dark and Sexy Prince."
