Dragons were warm, Shadow Milk noticed.
Above him were violet scales coated on top of a dragon of darkness, pairing with baby pink eyes that stared back at him; the cookie who wielded shadows, a wrath no one could avoid. Except them. After all, not only were they incredibly close - both figuratively and literally - they specialised in shadows too. Darkness was their thing, as yet again they were the dragon of darkness.
A huff escaped them, and then a smile as they nestled further into the crook of his neck. Their tail raised up and curled over into a hook adjacent shape, smile only growing as they continued to get more comfortable. As if they weren’t already.
Shadow Milk was cold, very cold, like a carton of milk that had just been taken out of the fridge. They liked that. They liked the contrast. They were already very warm anyway, having a naturally higher body temperature than cookiekind.
Then, a rumbling escaped their throat. Erupting from their newly vibrating body, and Shadow Milk immediately noticed. He was shocked at first, only to remember that - yes, dragons can purr. It shocked him the first couple of times, but after centuries of cuddling and snuggling with this big lizard he was bound to get used to it.
So, he merely pulled them in closer, arms protectively wrapping around the other and embracing them further, “Glad to hear you’re enjoying it.” He teased.
The dragon hissed, yet made no move to get away from him; only getting closer. “Shut. Up.” They growled, yet no real malice was behind those words. They were all bark yet no bite. He didn’t hold back a chuckle this time, laughing for a moment or two before finally letting out one last breath and smiling.
Dragons were warm, Shadow Milk reminded himself, and not just in temperature, but personality too. Or maybe he was just special.
"When YOUR kingdom is the only truly safe haven in all of Earthbread — how could you POSSIBLY know that your OH-SO-DEAR FRIENDS are PERFECTLY SAFE AND SOUND?! That's right, Vanilly!~ YOU CAN'T. So allow yours truly to demonstrate some possible ... Outcomes of what may be happening as we speak!"
