Synesthesia allows people to hear color or taste numbers, and maybe even remember some things better than the average person.
Do a synesthesia moodboard!

I’M FINALLY SELLING SKETCHBOOKS!
I am so pumped, oh my gosh! I’m painting songs on these little guys! I’m kinda in love with mine already–I’m just using it as a notebook to jot down ideas in.
These are 4x6 inches and have 110 blank pages in them! If you want just the front cover to have a song, it’s $15, or $20 to have front and back! They can totally be different songs if you want!
Get yours here: [x]
Oh, don’t mind me, just fangirling over @snazzystarlight and her work because she’s amazing (Guys she has a shop go check it out she’s absolutely amazing and talented)
wait, does this: /post/156012975099/auras works with synesthetes?
I'm assuming you're referring to the recent post with aura color meanings and that is a my bad post that was supposed to be put on my other blog 😅
hi! i’m doing a project about synesthesia! i’m looking for people who have any degree of synesthesia if that’s ok! if you do, or know someone that does, please send me a message or spread the message!! thank you so much!
when you get so overwhelmed by your synesthesia that you just have to take a moment to like, clear your head because jinkies scoobs, that’s a lot of colours
if anyone was interested in my synesthesia playlists on apple music, here you go.

I would like to talk to some people with synesthesia. I have questions about what it’s actually like to live with.
Any variety of synesthsia is welcome.
Especially interested in:
auditory —> visual
olfactory —> visual
anything —> haptic/kinesthetic (whatever you call experiencing input as something with a shape and position)
QUESTIONS (as many or as few as you are comfortable with):
How strong is it overall?
Does it happen always, or is it triggered only by certain circumstances/unusually strong sensory stimulation/something else?
Is it something you can control/block out if you need to? Is it something you can concentrate on and then experience at will?
Is it totally consistent? Like, if I say the word “cat” to you in exactly the same pitch and inflection on widely separate occasions, will it always appear green? Does it vary with pitch/inflection/volume?
Does it seem “real?” If you, for instance, “see” sound, is the image actually present in your field of vision, or is it the strong visual impression of a thing, inside the mind? Like the memory of something you saw? Like you just “know” what the (for instance) sound or looks like or what the smell is shaped like? Are you aware that it isn’t “real”? (”Real” in the sense that the crossover you are experiencing is not coming from the environment, but rather your reaction to it, thus it isn’t present in the real world…I am probably wording this poorly.) Or can it seem absolutely real?
Can it be influenced by outside factors, the form partly/entirely created by association? Like, if the first time you heard a song your feet were in sand and water, would that influence subsequent experiences of how that song “felt” (or looked, or whatever)? Once an association has been formed, can it ever change?
If you are comfortable saying, do you have a mental illness characteristically associated with hallucinations? Do you have hallucinations separate from the synesthesia, and if so, do they seem/feel different, subjectively?
I realize there are a lot of variations, it’s a poorly-understood thing and unique to each person. I’m not looking to understand the “rules” as absolutes, I realize there are no such things.
I’m looking to understand how it works for different people, and to explore whether I experience a very low-grade form of it under very specific circumstances.
I would like to talk about this, either publicly or privately.
Input from people with limited or mild forms is quite welcome!
REBLOGS WELCOME, or if you know some neat folks with synesthesia who would be willing to talk about it, feel free to send them my way!
synesthesia problems: saying descriptions that don’t make any sense to non-synesthesian people
The stickers look good on laptops!
what is synthesia like? is it like letters coloured different or is it colours in replace of the letter? Or something else?
It’s kinda complicated to describe. Each letter has a distinct color in my mind. These are colors I associate with the symbols (not 100% accurate since the colors in my mind are very specific and I haven’t quite found the exact shades on my computer.)
When I’m reading plain black text on a screen, I simultaneously see the letters in black and in the colors they are in the chart above. It’s like my eyes see black but my mind sees the other colors, and it’s pretty weird.
It comes in handy though! I’m really good at sudoku because I can look at a grid of numbers and quickly tell which ‘color’ is missing from a particular section of the grid. Anagrams and other word games are pretty easy too. Sometimes math can get overwhelming, but other times the colors help me keep track of what I’m doing.
A whole bunch of bookmarks!
