Annual reminder to white gentile Pagans and white gentile witches: you are not victims, and you are not oppressed.
HERE WE ARE, IN THE OUROBOROS, DOING IT AGAIN. HOPING SOME DAY THIS DANMED CYCLE ENDS.
In witchcraft, you don't need to have beliefs about everything. I mean, especially if that thing has no relevance to you or your practice. But you don't have to have your own personal theories or explanations for, well, anything. "Oh so you read tarot but you can't even tell me how it works?" Sure can't, you want a reading or not?
"I don't know," "I used to think I knew but now I don't," "I'm figuring it out," "That answer isn't important to me," and "I just don't care"
are all perfectly great responses to, and truths about, questioning your own beliefs.
welcome new Witchblrites who aren't beginners: I hope this is helpful to you
Myself and friends have noticed a large influx of activity into witchblr, and since we've already had a king's ransom of how to witchblr posts for beginners, I'd like to present a how to witchblr post for practitioners who've already been at it a fair while.
So, if you're a practitioner who's already been at it for a fair while and this is your first time on the magically side of Tumblr, I gotta tell you:
There are a fuckton of belief systems coexisting here, and if you can't figure out how to be chill with that, you're going to have a bad time.
I remember my first culture shock coming onto Tumblr. I was a young witch of about 2 years experience or so, primarily raised up on a few books and one very insular witchcraft forum. "I know how magic works," I confidently told myself, because I was young.
And I got to Tumblr and basically immediately found out that no, I do not know how magic works. I know how magic works FOR ME. I know my own beliefs. But the second you step past your front porch and try to tell other people their ideas are wrong because they conflict with your personal beliefs, you're gunna have a bad time.
There are a lot of witches on Tumblr who flat out do not believe spirits or gods are real. And they're friends with theists and spirit-workers. There are a lot of witches on Tumblr who completely follow the psychological model, and they break bread with magic literalists. There are witches on Tumblr who aren't from the USA (****shocking!!) and will tear your "ackshually, here is what the colors REALLY mean" chart to shreds, because as it turns out, that's not what red symbolizes in the Philippines, nor do they give a flying fuck about the Golden Dawn has to say on the matter.
If you are uncomfortable existing in a space where people with different fundamental beliefs expect their ideas to be treated as equal to yours, Tumblr might not be the right site for you.
(and/or, this is a great opportunity to figure out how to not have an aneurysm when your entire personhood is based around [X MAGICAL THING] and someone dares comment "I don't believe in X, but [salient and helpful thought]" on a thread you're following)
Liminal Space: A place of motion and transition. Doorways, arches, gates, crossroads, rest stops on the highway. Borders and roads. Places where the veil is thin.
Proximal Space: "This Side" of the Liminal Space. Comfy bedrooms. Your home town. Holy spaces. Kitchens. Places where the veil is thick.
Distal Space: "Far Side" of the Liminal Space. Frontiers. Destinations. The wilderness, the grave. An amusement park. A mall. A ghost town. A monument. Places where the veil is deep.
Question everything. Everything.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to know more about something, why something is how it is, who was the first person to say it?
We are all human, we see the world independently, differently than one another.
Why is the color red associated with love? with lust? rage? fire? Don't understand it? Does it feel off? Define your own associations.
Who is this author? How qualified are they to be writing about this topic? Is there a personal bias?
Be wary of those who accept knowledge without question.
good fucking lord we need to demystify minerals. crystals do not have healing or magical powers you guys are just getting scammed
and we are what exactly? everything we interact with is a jigsaw puzzle of atoms. everything that effects or heals us in made of atoms and vibrations. negative ions from moving water affect our mood so why wouldn't crystals?
you are getting scammed
I own a rock shop. A lady came in about three years ago and asked me which crystals are best for healing, I gently explained that they didn't have powers or healing properties. She started crying. She had late-stage cancer and no medical treatments were working. A crystal-healer had told her the only thing that would save her were crystals, then proceeded to convince her to spend $2000 on what realistically was only maybe $50 worth of Arkansas Quartz. She had two months to live, and was being strung along by scammers who gave her false hope in exchange for her life savings. I had indirectly just told this woman she was going to die, and it was hitting her all at once. Unfortunately, stuff like this is a regular occurrence. Maybe that’s my worst story, but it’s something I encounter on a weekly basis at least. Rocks, Minerals, and crystals are cool as hell but they don’t have powers. They aren’t mystical or special. I’m sorry for going off on a rant about this but it’s frustrating and it can ruin people’s lives.
Are you “leaving duality” or are you just getting into spiritual centrism?
Truly leaving duality means acknowledging that “light” and “dark” are social constructs. Few people actually do this. Most just become spiritual centrists - still believing the world is fundamentally divided into “light” and “dark” sides, only now they believe that both sides are equally valid, as if people who support genocide are necessary counterbalances to those who advocate for human rights.

Houseplant Correspondences & Meanings
I've developed these correspondences as part of an oracle deck that I had planned to create but I need to actually draw them.
ANYWAYS here are some houseplants and their witchy correspondences!
If you know me personally or have been following me for a while, you'll know that I'm obsessed with houseplants. So of course, being me, I've been trying to incorporate them into my practice.
Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata)
-Inner Strength, Positivity
Snake Plants can live and thrive even in difficult environments. This plant reminds you of your inner strength and of the positivity around you. You are capable of adapting to your situation. Be confident in yourself and your decisions, even if those decisions are hard to make.
These plants are also believed to have the ability to absorb negativity and release positivity, as a person this is someone who always shows you the bright side.
Rubber tree (Ficus elastica)
-Flexible, Lenient, Support
Rubber trees are diligent and flexible. The aerial roots of the rubber tree are used to build bridges in some places! These plants are able to be trained as they grow so that the tree is never harmed.
Things are changing and you seem to be handling it well, allowing yourself to go with the flow is the right choice. You may be the support for someone else going through a change right now, allowing them to lean on you and reflect on your love and kindness.
Ficus Elastica reminds you of your resilience, your ability to bend without breaking. You know that as time passes and things change you will only get stronger.
Pothos (Epipremnum aureum)
-Easy going, Care-free, Quick to recover
Perhaps it’s time that you allow yourself some freedom. This card urges you to practice some self-care–and that doesn’t just mean drinking a gallon of water and smearing on a mud mask–let yourself relax and have some fun. Hang out, like the vines of your friendly pothos.
This plant can also represent someone who is outgoing, carefree, and a true extrovert. Seek them out for support, they are a good companion to have.
Spider plant (Chlorophytum)
-Friendship, Community, Kinship
The spider plant is one of the easiest plants to propagate, making it an easy gift for those around you! This plant signifies a strong community and friendships. Take stock of the friends you have and let them know how grateful you are!
You can look toward and lean on your friends and your community, either for guidance or for a listening ear. Let yourself be a part of this community and know that it doesn’t make you any less of an individual to be part of something bigger than yourself.
Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum)
-Gentle, Careful
Maidenhair fern is soft to the touch, encouraging you to be gentle with yourself and those around you. Let yourself be taken care of and allow others to shower you in love and praise, you deserve it. You are being careful, and there is no shame in that, but without any trust in yourself or those around you, you may end up worse off. Let your hair down and have some fun.
ZZ Plant
-Resillient, Independent
The ZZ plant is known for thriving even with little outside help, it’s time to be like ZZ and be independent. You have the resilience and strength necessary to make it on your own. This doesn’t mean that you need to be alone, just that it’s time to stand with your own two feet.
This plant also reminds you that while being independent is certainly something to be proud of, it’s okay to reach out for help when you need it. Even the ZZ plant needs to be watered and given a little sunshine!
These correspondences are based on the history, meanings, and overall vibes of the plants. It's ok if you don't agree with these, as this is just a page from my grimoire that I'd like to share with other plant lovers.
ANYWAYS here are some houseplants and their witchy correspondences!
