final strip search comic of the season
topics were Creation, Morality and Good vs Evil
more strip search
today's topics: religion and candy
strip search time. This week's topics were Cars and Cats
this week's topics: dinosaurs and rollerskates.
Also a bonus epilogue, because stick figures take less than 90 minutes to draw
Plumbing the Strip Search mines for old topics to do a 90 minute comic on. Here is "space" and "ping pong" from the first week.
Everything is blurry because Gimp crashed and I had to salvage it from a screencap. Life is hard sometimes.
Strip Search bonus round!
Today's topics were: Secret Sasquatch
today's topics: naughty and mystery
see if you can spot where I use them
Ok, so…since we started watching Strip Search, my husband had wanted me to try to draw a strip using the random words and time limit of an elimination challenge. And today, after we watched the episode which had the prompts “Flatulence” and “Country Fair,” I actually had a chance to do it.
I made myself come up with the idea as quickly as possible (uh, obviously?), and shaved 15 minutes off the allotted 90 minutes since I couldn’t sit down and draw it immediately after hearing the words. So this art is what I can do in 75 minutes and it’s LAUGHABLY SCRAPPY. This is not only the first comic I’ve drawn in months, but I almost always do my preliminary comic sketches by hand so going computer only was rough. Was working up to the last second! So I’m even more amazed at what those artists are turning out so far! :D (Seriously, go look at Katie’s) Yay, Strip Search!
I couldn’t really play along with the duck tour, or the interview challenges, so my next attempt is Elimination Round 2 (http://www.penny-arcade.com/strip-search/episode/elimination-2) The themes to incorporate were “Future” and “Lost”. I’ve been trying to draw these digitally like the contestants were doing, but since watching the Strip Search panel at PAX video, I realized those contestants just happened to prefer to go digital. If I were in the elimination chair, I’d be able to use whatever media I preferred to draw my strips. Here’s the panel, which is pretty interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nygxZGRfnY
I like that even though the challenges the contestants face are not always about making comics, the way to save yourself from elimination is making a comic. It gets back to the roots of what it means to be a cartoonist. You could fail at being interviewed, or remembering details about Seattle, but you could still stay on the show if you can make a good comic.
More strip search comix. Today's topic, mermaid and ukulele, skewered by my brilliant wit.
My contribution to the "try to make a comic about today's Strip Search topics in less than 90 minutes" movement which I'm pretty sure I just invented.
The topics were "flatulence" and the "county fair"
Would you believe that it took considerably less than 90 minutes!?
I can not believe a site about gaming news went as far as to insult people with Asperger’s. Saying that just because you disagree with their view you have it. Then they went as far as to say it’s not a real thing. What assholes.
This is truly reprehensible

Let him know that this sort of ignorance is not acceptable in gaming media.

Pretty much anyone who knows who I am probably knows me for Homestuck’s Fuchsia Ruler which plays in this flash in the comic. I’ve continued writing tracks since then, and now I’ve finally finished enough to compile an EP so if you liked Fuchsia Ruler (or even if you’ve never heard of me) then you’ll definitely want to check this out. The album’s free so feel free to share it with anyone and everyone, and if you really feel like helping me out reblog this post!
Remember to check my soundcloud for my latest tracks, and if you just can’t get enough of me I’ve got a music only blog, twitter, and youtube page in varying stages of development as well.
