Youtube algorithms are trying to get me into Naruto fandom again after ten years. It seems to be succeeding. But as you get older, you start to see things differently.
I'm thinking that if Konoha had a proper checkpoint system with identification, inspection, and adequate ninjas on duty, a lot of problems could be avoided. As it is, it's a typical thoroughfare, you can get in and out when you want. I still don't understand how they just let minors out of the village, Sasuke wanted to leave the village, so be my guest, and the fact that a kid with tech and some worldly knowledge of the structure and inner kitchen of the village left, well, it's no big deal.
Naruto and his generation's teams get into all the battles with enemies that should clearly be taken care of by more competent ninjas, jonin or anbu, no one's interested. The anbu in general are represented by kittens who can be put down by anyone, and these are experienced elite shinobi if I'm not confused. And where are the fucking patrols in Konoha when you need them?
Though, if it weren't for artistic license, we wouldn't have so much action and the ability to associate with the protagonist at our more tender age.
Surprisingly, I've never really liked the main characters, not in Naruto or any other anime, movie or book. But secondary characters that have two lines written about them or die in the same frame they appear in are exactly what my soul craves, heh So, I say hello to everyone who is still like me mourning Hayate’s death. This guy with the vibe of the most ordinary working man fucked up by life who just needs to lie down somewhere warm, that’s just love at first sight.
I'm afraid the next couple months will be filled with nostalgia, heh
