i get confused when people say dogs dont actually understand human speech because they're just reacting to sounds... bitch that's all we do too. humans make very specific sounds at each other and connect meaning to them. just because dogs dont understand it to the extent we do doesn't mean they don't understand at all.

I agree that dogs can understand things to some extent, but we definetely dont just react to sounds. Obviously reacting to sounds is part of it, but if that was all this was then we would be very limited in our use of language. We need to be able to derive conclusions from the sounds, to connect it to other informations, to contest it, etc; these arent properly and simply reactions.

I want to add that I get the distinct feeling this attitude does not carry over to transgirls who are not currently passing or performing their gender, whether that's because it's an off day, they're exhausted, or just not out of the closet full time. If you base your support, or show your support through exclaiming how sexy you think transwomen are, your support will feel temporary and contractual, and if you *actually* base your support on how cute you think we are, it probably is.

As a sex averse ace trans woman with a following I feel constantly dehumanized and fetishized by pretty much everyone, even people in my own community. I am not "fuckable" I do not want to fuck please leave me alone, its flattering you think Im hot but please stop assuming because Im a confidant goth trans woman that I want to top people and that is what I am seeking when buying groceries. @ the dozens of people of many genders whove hit on me in ways that made me uncomfy or catcalled me over the last couple of months.

Also like I did not used to get that type of attention at all, and it actually sucks in an added way because it makes you feel like "was I really that undesirable before, how would you treat me if I dressed differently?" Its pretty tiring.

Like its so clear that people who do this are not interested in going on a date with me, but that they want certain sexual things from me. That they want me to be sexually forward.

These posts are about a particular pattern of even feminists, queer people, trans people, relentlessly objectifying trans women specifically even when they would perfectly well understand that behavior is unacceptable for, say, a cis woman.

This pattern isn't exclusive to trans women—you'll see it happen, and happen often, with any demographic that's seen as sexually desirable and also sexually unassailable, including but not limited to both women and men of color, visibly butch and/or transmasc individuals, people who are on T, and visibly intersex women—but the "desirable plus unassailable" combination is especially heavily applied to trans women in particular.

And, obviously, it should go without saying that when a trans woman also fits another group that's affected by this, it gets even worse.
