Fandom has mentioned before that all of Ronan’s dreams love Adam but consider: all of Ronan’s dreams love Declan. Ronan was 3 when he dreamt Matthew, he wanted a brother whose love was uncomplicated, so he was probably upset with Declan when it happened. But Matthew clearly loves Declan, so even angry 3 year old Ronan with no self control couldn’t make his dream creation hate dislike his big brother.

So headcanon that Chainsaw loves him too, she an affectionate asshole who acts like she doesn’t care for him but still constantly vies for his attention. And Opal is apprehensive at first but quickly warms up to him. They get along well in a weird way, she likes to talk to him about everything but especially their family, he spoils her and she wants him to, and she’ll even sleep in his room sometimes.

TL;DR Ronan loves his big brother, even when he’s mad at Declan, which is for most of the series.

one thing i absolutely adore about maggie’s writing is how she just. really gives you the feel for the characters? like. you can really feel who they are in your bones.

gansey? suffused with wealth and books and filled to the brim with knowledge and there’s this stuffy weight and heaviness that comes with having done what he’s done at his age. the research, the traveling, the friends in high places. analyzing, wondering, always moving, occasionally shuttering.

adam? this lingering, gaping hole that quietly, constantly aches because of his position compared to his friends’, the sharp point of his pride, beating furiously like the beat of his blood; the breathless, otherworldly feel of cabeswater inside him, vines and roots unfurling and slowly, slowly filling the void in his chest; that assured, whispered presence, a flicker in the back of his mind; mist and moss and secrets.

ronan? simmering energy coiled in his bones, stretched taut, electricity crackling, the stuttering pulse that comes with home and family and wanting to set things right, that light breathless feeling of hope and promise and loyalty that contrasts so beautifully with his rugged exterior; dreaming, wanting, being.

blue? clipped and choppy and rough on the edges. outsider, curious, headstrong; a little farther away from everybody but brimming with unknown energy. seeking, seeking, seeking. something flickers, ignites when she meets her raven boys. interlocking, weaving. wondering, reaching, grasping.

noah? a flicker of movement in the dark; everywhere and nowhere at once. fading and flickering and flaring. gentle touches when they’re needed the most. ephemeral but wanting, loving, hoping. hovering on the edge of consciousness; blink and you’ll miss him. guttering warmth and smiles and chortles. 

i can feel all of these things in the way that when i close the book, their essences all wash over me and i just. i know who they are. they imprint themselves into my bones. i love it so much.

You guys ever think about when Kevin saw Riko for the first time in nine months on Kathy’s show he whispered what Neil thought might be a prayer? How about how when Riko and Kevin stopped hugging for the camera and Kevin sat down with his thigh pressed hard enough against Neil’s that Neil could feel him shaking? What about when the Foxes lose to the Ravens and Kevin looks at Riko and says “I’m satisfied.”? Or the time that Neil comes back from the Nest and he says “I know what he’s like if you want to talk about it.”? How about when Neil through his own bravery and sacrifice is enough to inspire Kevin to get his tattoo covered up? What about him switching from right hand to left hand in that final game to win them championships in the last two seconds? And you have the audacity, the gall, to claim that my son is weak or a coward? What books were you reading, because they sure as fuck were the same ones I read.
