a woman’s grief is deep. it weights on her heart, lingers on her chest and it consumes her whole being. she loves with everything she has so when she loses she loses just as deeply. men are meant to be the protectors of women. not just physically but emotionally too, to shield her heart, to carry what she shouldn’t have to carry alone. but a man can’t hold what he doesn’t understand. if he doesn’t develop a deep understanding and awareness of his own emotions, he will mishandle hers by brushing off her pain, dismissing her sorrow, hardening his heart when she needs it soft. a man must know himself to protect her and be a place of refuge. to hold her grief with gentleness instead of frustration. strength isn’t coldness, protection isn’t distance. a woman’s heart is entrusted to him. which all in one is a treasure to be kept.
