despite the exhaustion, despite the wounds, and despite the blood loss that keeps her head spinning, raven still retains her strength. it may be a fraction of its usual might, but, the deaths of the four she had singlehandedly taken on linger. one should not trifle with her even when she is weakened—a venomous snake can still bring forth poison when weakened, so the same can be said for her magic.

❝Don’t try that with me,❞ she growls, gaze filled with flames narrowing further. she stays back, making sure to keep her weapon brandished threateningly. she could move forward and press an obvious advantage, but she doesn’t; why, she’s not yet sure of. ❝You were following me as well. a wobbling of her stance and a well placed swim of vision reminds her of the condition she is in, but the rational part of her be damned. she’s not going to die by their hands.

          an animal cornered was dangerous like no other. they were unpredictable, fearful, and so very savage if escaping meant that they survived. but robin was no threat, he was a simple tactician attempting to save a life. if only she could understand that and look beyond the black coat that she’d painted upon him.

          ❛ just because we were both pursuing you, doesn’t mean that our intentions are the same. ❜ he is thankful that she doesn’t apply any more force behind her blade or he would’ve been doomed for failure. and failure, in this case, meant death for him.

          the weakness of her stance is not lost on him. with a sweep of his leg, he knocks her off her feet, but not before wrenching her weapon from her grasp with all his might and tossing it aside. to avoid any misconceptions, robin makes a show of getting rid of his own weapon. the tactician then extends a hand towards the blonde in a similar manner to how chrom had done towards him moons ago.

          this was just great---first a band was pursuing this woman and terrorizing all that got in their way, and now that same person was trying to lob his pretty little head right off his shoulders. that was not a justified way to treat your savior.

          he quirks a brow, giving the tent yet another onceover before staring disbelievingly at the thief. while gaius was certainly lucky reflet or frederick hadn’t been the ones to happen upon the tattered remains of his tent, robin knew that he couldn’t be easy on him. nope. okay...maybe a little. he was a big softie and this guy knew it.

          ❛ okay, sure. I’ll buy it. just go get a new tent from frederick or reflet when you get the chance. let it happen again and I’m going to have to confiscate your candy stash. ❜

          the tactician scrawls the other’s name within the leatherbound tome that served as the shepherd’s roster, only deigning to look up at the mention of her backstory. or, rather, the lack thereof. reflet’s brow furrows, but she doesn’t press the matter. she unfortunately knew what it was like to lose a large chunk of one’s past. it would be hypocrisy for her to deny kat residence with the shepherds, had she the authority, when she and her brother had been given the very same by chrom.

          a woman without an idea of what her life was prior to two years ago. 

          ❛ very well... ❜ she says, brown eyes settling on the adorable creature that served as kat’s companion. a starry pelt and a lack of eyes raised many questions in her mind. again, she’d grant them mercy and not press the matter. the nature of her pet was not of great import.

          her only companion is the strange, cute, feline creature by her side---dusty. she appears to have abilities beyond that of simple “magic” and possesses no visible weapons. the most...

          she’d leave the rest blank until she understood the blonde a bit more. though that was more of robin’s forte.
