Guys, we all have that one friend who sometimes feels like too harsh, too blunt, and perhaps even borderline mean when giving us feedback.

Do we listen enough?

Do we look inside ourselves to find areas where we can improve? where they might be right, or where their perception may be misguided?

It takes a lot of love and courage to tell the naked ugly truth to those we love most, specially when that truth is not a very nice one... But how would we be better if no one said anything, if we never received any feedback positive or negative?

Not every bad comment is meant to destroy us. Not every harsh truth has to do directly with you, but it will show us something about our connection to each other.

Next time you hear or read something crude about your self, I invite you to look again,

Love could be behind.

How will you know if it is?

Negative feedback leaves you confused and angry.

Positive feedback will leave you thinking. It will always show you a way to improve.

Please make sure to always find the time and have the heart to find more fun, enjoying being silly and going off the path. It is so good for your health to have some time for play in your day, and it can be anything as simple as coloring, a quick tic-tac-toe game with someone, singing out loud, doing a puzzle, playing with your pet or your friends!

It turns out that "just playing around" is actually some of the most serious work our brains and bodies can do. It doesn't just feel good; it changes the physical structure of the brain! Play helps the cells in your brain grow and form new connections, it strengthens your ability to plan, prioritize and regulate emotions, reduces stress, creates stronger connections with people and makes beautiful memories, enhances your creativity and even helps you sleep better.

Now, in the deep ocean of hobbies, games and activities to do it is very easy to get lost, or to follow along with others and play games that might not be quite as thrilling for you. It's ok! They are benefitial either way!

However, if that ever happens, I asked Luffy how could you know which activities are fun for you?

Luffy said: "If something is fun for me, I look forward to it, it is energizing, and I never feel guilty about doing it later"

I think that is a good way to help identify which activities are fun for you and suit better your uniqueness.

Also, know that fun can come in different categories or styles, such as challenging fun, or relaxing fun, or accommodating fun, depending on how many people are involved. (like getting together for a soccer match)

Whichever style and game you prefer you will always get the benefits either way!

The past two weeks I was completely absorbed with work.

Which I love, and I am passionate about, but I have to admit that I neglected taking care of myself.

Sometimes I let it happen: become too absorbed in the task at hand that I forget to eat, forget to drink water, stay "just a bit longer" which ends up being taken away from the time we all need to exercise and move the body for a few minutes, the time needed to relax the mind and the eyes, to sleep and allow the body to recover.

and sure, that passion and dedication does pay back in the reputation that you create for yourself,

But it it very important to not make a habit out of putting your most basic needs last in your to-do list.

If you needed a sign, this is it:

Take the break.

Let's walk around for a couple of minutes.

Let's go grab a nice glass of water, or would you prefer tea? or a soda?

and while we are at it, maybe also a snack?

You're already amazing at what you do. 5 minutes will not take away from all your effort, and instead, a happy, rested and nourished you will come back stronger, focused and with more energy to tackle and conquer this task.
