Per i nostri antenati Maslenitsa incarnava la fertilità.

Di solito il periodo della Maslenitsa comprende la prima settimana di marzo. Durante questi giorni viene fatta una bambola di paglia, chiamata Maslenitsa. L'ultimo giorno la Maslenitsa è portata in processione alla fine della quale le viene dato fuoco, o la si fa a brandelli.

In tempi antichi questa era la festività della dea Lada.

BELTANE

Beltane è una festività stagionale legata al ciclo naturale, alla fertilità e all'agricoltura.

Il giorno per i celti cominciava al crepuscolo quindi la celebrazione cominciava già dalla sera prima, il 30 di Aprile, che per loro era già il 1 Maggio. Questa è una festa considerata opposta a Samhain.

Venivano accesi grandi fuochi. Il bestiame veniva sacrificato per poi essere mangiato.

Essendo una festività legata alla fertilità e alla fecondità, diverse attività erano rivolte alle fanciulle in cerca di marito, e alla sfera agricola.

Molte giovani si rotolavano nella rugiada per incrementare la loro attrattiva sessuale.

Fino a circa il secolo scorso tra gli slavisti esisteva l'idea che gli dèi delle antiche cronache russe fossero una mera derivazione degli dèi norreni, portati nelle terre slave dei variaghi. Infatti si riteneva che prima di questi il popolo slavo ne fosse privo, avendo solo credenze animiste, poiché ritenuti non in grado di svilupparne di più complesse.

Nessuno si preoccupò di approfondire l'argomento. Negli ultimi decenni e grazie a VERI studi e non a supposizioni si può dire che gli dèi slavi erano una realtà del mondo slavo pre conquista dei variaghi. Così come per le altre civiltà antiche, gli dèi slavi sono di origine indoeuropea, ed è per questo che hanno un comune modello di origine, simile ad altre divinità di altri pantheon europei, come il dio tuono o il dio dei mari, ecc.

Molti associano queste due figure. Molte di queste affinità lasciano a desiderare.

Una di queste è quella delle 8 renne di Santa Claus associate a Sleipnir. Un'altra info erronea è che Odino indossa il colore rosso, ma dalle fonti sappiamo che indossa il blu, il nero o il grigio. Un'altra associazione e quella della distribuire di doni, ma i doni distribuiti da queste due figure sono estremamente diversi, mentre Santa Claus distribuisce doni di gioia per i bambini, quelli di Odino sono rivolti principalmente agli uomini che in seguito lui vorrebbe avere nel Valhalla, nella sua armata.

Yule storicamente è una festività norrena che cadeva durante il midwinter, a metà gennaiodi e non durante il solstizio come viene celebrato da molti neopagani oggi. Non abbiamo fonti pagane dirette che descrivono per filo e per segno ciò che erano i rituali, i acrifici e lo svolgimento del blót.

Dalle fonti però sappiamo che la festa durava svariati giorni, si facevano sacrifici di cavalli e maiali soprattutto a Freyr, ovviamente si beveva, tanto.

Si sa poco su questa divinità.

Le fonti sono estremamente scarse, e quelle che si spacciano per tali su internet sono di origine moderna, quindi controllate sempre!

Dio paragonato ad Efesto, è con molta probabilità una divinità arcaica, successivamente soppiantata da altre.

Gli viene atteibuita la paternità ad dio Dažbog, e forse a Svarožić.

Ci sono diverse ipotesi anche sull'origine del suo nome.

MABON

(Mitologia Celtica)🇮🇹

Mabon è una divinità celtico-gallese. Divinità dai diversi nomi, tra i più conosciuti abbiamo #Maponos.

È una divinità solare, e lo troviamo affiancato anche ad Apollo, la divinità romana.

Con la madre #Modron formano una coppia di divinita madre-figlio diffusa anche in altri credo.

Troviamo Mabon anche nel ciclo Arturiano!

Il dio supremo, forse il più importante, il creatore di fulmini e tuoni, un dio guerriero che accompagna le armate in battaglia sul suo carro, armato di arco e frecce incandescenti.

Durante il periodo pagano della Rus' di Kiev era nominato con Veles nei trattati di pace. Il suo idolo inoltre si eregeva su una collina a Kiev insieme ad altri.

Il paganesimo fu duro a morire nelle terre russe, infatti molte divinità furo trasformate in santi.

Nel caso di Perun, le sue caratteristiche furono affibbiate a Sant'Elia.
