@nananapua
itâs interesting that in andor they make a repeated effort to point out that the empire is deeply inefficient at data collection (the imperial census for many planets being years out of date, the fact that all their crime data is decentralised and separately analysed by different departments, their traffic data has to be monitored by hand, etc), and this is done to demonstrate the difficulty the empire is having with controlling such vast amounts of space, as well as play into the fact that the empire is inheriting all the problems of bureaucratic mismanagement from the republic government as a result of their takeover. like data collection is being used in the show to convey the declining health and might of the empire, which is struggling more and more everyday to maintain itself. which is why part of the plan to build back more imperial power includes dedraâs scheme to centralise all their data collection in order to track rebel activity across space.
and I like that! I think itâs a really realistic problem for a massive space government to have, especially a fascistic one that is attempting to expand. but like that kind of narrative meaning can then also be applied to luthen, who knows an absurd amount of information about cassian. like luthen is obviously a rebel insert on coruscant, close to the halls of power, but his deep knowledge of cassianâs life (above and beyond what the empire has on him) also implicates him in this same sinister data-as-power thing they have going on in the show with the empire. which maybe thatâs intentional and we are supposed to distrust luthen, but idk itâs just an interesting âparallelâ in the show and I donât know if itâs on purpose or not yet
This is a beautiful graphic but it doesnât explain the pros and cons of each fire type.
The Swedish torch is good for an efficient and contained fire, itâs controlled and good for cooking over and produces less light and heat than other fires. It can be difficult to keep going once you burn through the original log
The teepee is your traditional campfire. Good for heat and light not great for cooking, burns through fuel fairly quickly
The star fire is one of the slowest burning and not well protected but provides an even heat good for slow cooking and is excellent if you have limited fuel and need the protection a fire can provide
The lean to is a compact and efficient fire that evolves into a dense and hot bed of coals. The structure creates a good source of air flow which can help damp wood burn. A slightly better cooking fire that isnât as bright. It also provides protection from wind on one side
The platform fire is incredibly hot and will create a very thick bed of coals but it doesnât have a lot of air flow and is a little harder to get started.
The log cabin is big and bright and has lots of air flow which again is good for damp logs. You can also use this structure to start a smaller fire in the middle while drying out bigger logs. This fire will crumble into a messier bed of coals that donât produce particularly even heat for cooking.
The modified leanto is excellent if you need it to perform multiple functions. The side with more fuel will burn bright and hot and the side with less fuel will burn less hot but more evenly and controlled, this gives you different cooking options.

Finally someone tackles gift giving. Itâs my core love language and people donât get it. At all.
Idk if gift giving is my love language to receive, but it is the one I most easily give. It's just little trinkets or shiny things that hold the message "I saw this and thought of you". The value/price is meaningless, but the time invested into the object has a lot of value.
Trump: [says some bs]

Firefighter demonstrates how to put out a kitchen fire
Reblog to actually save a life
To explain. The latter works because youâre cutting off the supply of oxygen to the fire and suffocating it
as opposed to slapping oxygen inside the pan with the downward motion
Reblogging, because this is so important. When I was learning how to cook for myself in my tweens, I had at least a five years of fire safety seminars from school drilling this into my head, and I STILL had that instinctive put-the-fire-out-with-water reflex. Didnât even think. I saw our oily burner catch fire after frying eggs, whipped around towards the sink for water, and my brain immediately screamed NO!!! NO WATER! I mean that fire safety stuff straight up bitchslapped me out of REFLEXIVELY setting my house on fire. I found a pot lid and inched it over the burner before turning off the heat. Even if you think you know this stuff, panic is powerful shit. Make knowledge more powerful.

thereâs a fucking furry at the mall!!!!
what the hell is an â"easter bunnyââ
My app crashed three times trying to reblog this, and I feel that was the universe trying to stop me from giving others whiplash.
Instead of a stoic hero and a chatty villain or a chatty hero and a stoic villian imagine if theyâre both chatty. Just, the villian trying their best to kill the hero while the two of them have a in-depth discussion about their opinion of pumpkin spice
Villian: *shoots laser* No but seriously orange is a really fun color
Hero, dodging: but your entire room? Iâm not painting my entire room orange
Villain: *stabs at the hero and misses* well then why did you ask my opinion on paint colors if youâre not going to listen
The Princess Bride
Holy shit
LPT: Don't throw your junk mail away. Use it to to help the USPS instead!
Next time you get a credit card offer in the mail, or a junk piece of mail that includes a prepaid envelope or postcard, don't throw it away! Send the envelope back with a blank sheet of paper inside, or don't fill the postcard out, but still send it back. The company that sent it to you had to pay the USPS for postage on each one they get back. This is a way to support the USPS by doing very little, and sticking it to the annoying companies that want all of your money.
In the 90s we would send companies âhate mailâ by stuffing prepaid envelopes with things like âblanksâ (flat heavy metal pieces), a roofing shingle) and layers of other competitorsâ mail or junk news. This is because the company would have to pay more upon recieving the junk mail. It eats into them. It actually somewhat reduced our junk mail returnables, I think. Send that mail yâall.Â
i canât stop thinking about that tweet about the guy who tried to stop his cat from pushing his door open and accidentally trained him to push 50lbs instead

there are many young merfolk out there, so i felt the desire to create a badass elder for mermay :) sheâs as much derived from as she is dedicated to the vuvalini of MMFRâ i also sincerely hope she brings joy to my mutuals older than me who always delight and inspire me, and to all older women in fandom, really, who i continuously thought of while working on her
i hope itâs obvious but just in case: sheâs beluga / inuit. and yes, a name and backstory eventually developed! haha
oh yâall this is my first non-fanart piece to break 1k notes and iâm SO excited itâs enthusiasm for this design in particular! thank you; iâm so relieved and encouraged by the warm responses đđ»đ
i ADORE this merfolk lady. Because she has a beluga tail, she is of my people. I come from the frigid waters of the Saguenay river, where the Belugas live. I am of her tribe. She is my Elder. My great grandmother many times removed.
this is making some rounds again so i need to reiterate: thank you so much to every first nations commenter. your feedback of feeling respectfully represented and excited is my measure of genuine success for this piece.
