I’m Nandi Gugulethu ❤️ (Nandi for short)

An unintentionally unserious girl who’s currently juggling uni and who daydreams of becoming a best selling author 🙂‍↕️ I originally made this blog to post my writing more AND to motivate me to write. (It’s on and off but at least I’m trying 😭)

I write mostly dark romance books and dark fantasy books but honestly my brain hops everywhere so it’s sort of a mixed bag

a lover’s drought made the long list for wattpad’s onc 2026 🌾

672 qualified entries in round three. 300 made the list.

this was my first completed piece in this genre, the first time i finished something and put it in front of strangers who had no reason to be kind. so this one’s just for the record: it worked.

one day, despite everything, a really clear and present peace will descend on you. you will find yourself almost retroactively feeling that peace as it happens: you'll realize it's been a few minutes or hours or days since you Thought About It. you'll notice that you're actually fully relaxed and you've been relaxed for a little while. that while today might just be a normal day, it felt like a normal day - it was a little tiring, but not overly so; there were moments of fun in there, and you got to see a little bit of beauty. you will realize that in between the self-help books you've "read" (glanced over) and the podcasts and the journaling, this moment is the tip of a long and beautiful ship you've been swimming towards for years now. you will realize: you've been teaching (coaching, parenting, punishing-sometimes, but ultimately yes - loving) yourself to see the beauty in the world, and now you do it almost automatically, by rote. you will realize that happiness is not just the wild abandon of summer; the concerts and the parties and the beaches. happiness is like love: it is gentle and soft, unassuming. it is confident and ready, a stable and earnest peace that is not the brittle holding-fast of your childhood but instead a real and impenetrable wall; a thing that once-felt cannot be dismissed. a thing that will always be there, in a sense, or at least will be something you could always make again - and you know this because you built it.

in that place you will finally find yourself. when you were little and decided enough was enough and decided you would survive this and decided that you were the master of your own fate: the person waiting for you in this peace is the version of you that you wished on. you looked years into the future and knew it would take work and diligence and failure. that you would be scrambling and backsliding. and you still said, back then: i want to meet who i am when i'm happy.

and oh, my love. it will be so worth it, all that waiting.

maybe it’s want for something I hope would happen but I’m too scared to find out in case it goes bad again

So I’ll sit with this ache

first listen thoughts on Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. by Mr Harry Edward Styles

okay so here are my completely unprofessional first impressions after listening through the album.

first of all: this is NOT the album i expected.

if you went in expecting another Fine Line moment or another soft-rock album like HS1 you might be confused for a second because this project is very experimental. it leans a lot more alternative and playful and at times it almost feels like he’s just exploring whatever sound he wanted without worrying about what people expected.

and honestly? i respect that so much.

some songs immediately stood out to me.

“Paint By Numbers” is genuinely beautiful. the imagery in that song is insane in the best way and it gave me the same emotional feeling that Matilda gave me the first time i heard it. it feels delicate but intentional.

“Coming Up Roses”??? okay bridgerton soundtrack energy. it’s gorgeous.

then there are the really fun songs like “Pop” and “Dance No More.” they reminded me a little of the joy and silliness of Treat People With Kindness. very light, very playful, very “don’t take this too seriously just have fun.”

some songs didn’t hit as hard for me personally (American Girls for example) but i also feel like this is the kind of album that’s going to grow on people over time.

also i need to talk about the ending.

“Carla’s Song” being the closer felt really intentional. usually harry ends albums on something emotional or bittersweet (Fine Line, Love of My Life etc.) but this one felt more hopeful? like things get better instead of ending in sadness.

and i actually loved that choice.

so overall:

artistically → 8/10

for my personal taste → 7/10

not my usual sound but i appreciate the risk he took with this one.

and honestly the album title makes perfect sense because sometimes you really do just need to kiss all the time and disco occasionally.
